Johnny Dawkins

The Stanford job is extremely appealing, a major job. Great conference. High academic standards, yet both the football team and the women's basketball team recruit on a national level, and are major powers in their respective sports. Dawkins is a class act, but he definitely underperformed there. They might go with a Jaron Collins, but a national search would yield the best of the best.

I don't think Travis is quite there yet to be considered for one of the major jobs, nor has he completed his "arc" at Montana. I have a feeling we're only at the beginning of grandiose scale in our program, of a magnitude that will soon eclipse both Tinkle and Krystkowiak. Two years? Three? That's when we need to start worrying. Just my sense. Hope I'm right.

What about LK? Is Utah a comparable gig to Stanford?

I think LK's next college stop will be a top 5 or 10 program.

I think Krysktkowiak's next stop is back to the NBA.

You may be right. I have no info on it. However, my thought is that his experience coaching wasn't so good, and NBA coaching is less coaching and more managing ego's, so I thought he might rather coach at UNC or Duke or somewhere like that. His boys are in and coming to high school age. I assume they are good athletes. A college coaching schedule would allow him to be home with his kids and at some games, more than an NBA schedule. When you already have enough money for life, why wouldn't you want to spend more time with your kids as they're growing up and playing sports, was my thought.

lk just got a contract extension at the beginning of the season. Somewhere in the 3-5m for the next 3years.

Lol at the thought of LK going back to the NBA. If anyone knows anything about his first HC go-around there, I doubt they would give the idea much credence. His players basically revolted against him. Larry has a certain coaching style that just doesn't translate well to players with big egos making tens of millions of dollars. He's much better suited to the college game. Like someone else said, I see his next stop being a perennial Top 10 NCAA program.
