A couple of students in our section said they are buddies with him said he had arthroscopy surgery on his knee this week and he walked out after the procedure. They said he would probably be out two weeks. Seems to fit with the meniscus talk.

Hope not. We can count him out for the season then and no guarantee when he comes back he will be as good. Doesn't seem to match though.
torn Meniscus is usually two weeks complete immobilization for minor tears, if surgery required it is two weeks complete immobilization plus two weeks more of limited mobility and several months before he could begin running on it again. Often times it can take even more time before he would be able to plant and cut like he does, or it may never heal fully.

If he had just had surgery don't think he would be walking on it.

I have had meniscus tears, on both knees, in which the torn part of the meniscus was taken out/scoped. I walked out of both surgeries, did not use crutches, and was not immobilized. After the second one, when I was in my 40's, the skied on days 8, 9 and 10, and skied the bumps on day 10. I was back running and playing noon ball very quickly. I can't imagine it would take longer than 3 weeks to get back on the field, unless there is a special problem. Look at Peevey this year.

The way he cuts, runs could take 6 weeks. My son had that surgery at Wake Forest and it took 6 weeks.

I overheard a couple of doctors in our section who said: "We can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world's first bionic man. JLM will be that man. Better than he was before. Better...stronger...faster."

Was prefaced with: "Jerry Louie-McGee, Griz. A man barely walking."

Went to the Griz walk and saw him limping and got a little worried.

Should have played him a bit less. I mean seriously, school record receptions in his third game...as a redshirt freshman??

Coach was like a little kid with a new Tonka toy. Just couldn't leave it alone. Now you need to actually have him sit out games in order to have him back at, ostensibly, 100%. Maybe use him a little more sparingly. Sheesh, we're gonna be needin the guy... :twocents:
Oh FFS. Football is a rough game, but you still get your best players the ball as much as you can. I think he'll be just fine.

Rewatch the SUU game, he gets hurt...but put back in game when I am sure others could have played. It was after the game outcome was not in doubt. Lyons and Homan can play that position very well (maybe not as good as healthy JLM but to keep an injured guy off the field you bet) . I think he will be out again this week after seeing him walk (might be due to scoping), but Stitt in presser down played it probably so thus weeks opponents still spend a lot of practice time on it.

He SURE looked to be in a good mood on the sidelines if he in fact had that surgery.

OK, I was told a damaged achillies at one point. Then I was told he broke his hand and had surgery on it. I will wait until Brint makes the report official on what really happened to JLM.

Minor tear nothing major then. Didn't know they did surgery for those now a days. Couple of weeks resting it he will be okay. May not be 100% against NAU though. Might still be good idea to rest him that week. NAU with out Cookus and butler is somebody the griz should beat with out him. They will need him against EWU though.

How long is Casey Cookus out for?

Jerome Souers told me Case Cookus is out "indefinitely". Cookus saw a specialist last Wednesday to determine if he could make it back by November or if his season is finished. I talk to Jerome on Wednesday so will have more information then.
