And unfortunately, I have a bad feeling JJ is just not gonna be able to go this week.
A very small percentage (obviously) of FCS programs make legit noise in the playoffs. To say the MSU has not had sustained success is just plain ignorant. Although I will do you a solid Kemajic and chalk it up to plain old griz homerism bullshit. The Cats have had 13 consecutive years of winning seasons, the tops in the BSC. No, the Cats have not made it far in the playoffs. They are one the cusp of taking that next step and becoming a dominant program. IF you were to look objectively at the Cats program you would see that it is a talented QUALITY program. Don't be a blind griz homer. And yes, the Griz have a quality / talented program. I'm not such a blind dipshit that I can't see that. You should try being objective.kemajic said:"Sustained success?" You have a different perspective on that one. Rather overlooks the consistent beatdowns taken by MSU against Montana in your own house and a lack of playoff relevance. Last appearance in the semis came 30 years ago yet you have "sustained success." That's rich.Jerry Punch said:I remember during the McGhee era many Griz fans stated that the success experienced by the Cats was going to end when he graduated. If not that, it was always the steadfast belief that the Cats and Griz couldn't be good programs at the same time. It appears as though Copper is still stuck in this mentality. Copper, the Cats got 7 fcs wins without beating the Griz. Sorry, but it isn't always about the Griz. Sure, it would be awesome to get another win in Missoula, but here it is apparent that the Griz need this win much more than the Cats do. The Cats have had sustained success after the McGhee era ended. This weekend's game won't be a referendum on that at all, except if you're a the kind of fan Copper says he isnt.

If it isn't always about the Griz, then why do so many cat fans post on here all off the time? I actually don't think the Griz need this win. The future is very bright for the Griz. Cats - you are stuck. Really stuck and if the OC leaves - yikes. You are worried about a Griz team that has been decimated by injuries this year. That is a huge compliment for the Grizzly program as a whole. New coach coming in next year, new facilities funded and going to be completed in the forseaable future, phenomenal recruiting class, best stadium in FCS. I feel pretty good little bro. Let it burn.

LOL. Expand your horizons bro. The 10 cats fans that post here is not a barometer for how the entire Cat fan base or the team feels. It's a rivalry game, so yes it is important to both teams. But I guarantee you that the Cats care a lot more about making it further in the post season than they do about the cat-griz game. The Eagles aren't gong anywhere. The Cats aren't going anywhere. ISU isn't going anywhere. If you think that the almighty griz are going to rise up and start dominating again, you are in for dissapointment. If any program has cause for worry it is YOURS. New head coach....who knows, you could get an amazing coach, or they could hire someone who shits the bed. The point is, the job is open, so uncertainty is there. Same goes for your QB situation...and no, getting an ace QB after losing your senior stud (like MSU did) is not typical. You are a griz fan, so naturally you feel that the future is bright, that you will land the best FCS coach of all time and your new QB will be the second coming of Christ. I get it. It's just my job to slap you in the face with reality. Carry on.
If you can tell me what bearing your statement has on my cute little essay, I will assume that you didn't point out the obvious just because you couldn't think of anything worth a shit to say. You're both reading impaired and dense. Let me help you try to catch up. Do you understand past tense? Most Griz fans HAD.... We have not played Idaho in 11 years now so it is in the past. Ours and Idaho's loss. What irony? A rivalry has to be competitive. It is only after the Idaho rivalry died that MSU became competitive to even become a rivalry. Today most Griz fans would be more energized in beating EWU than MSU because they are better. Although it is fun watching the trail of tears in Bozeman every two years.CatzWillRise said:kemajic said:Most Griz fans had a far higher value for our rivalry with Idaho than with the cow college. You have to see the irony in putting down our rivalry due to lopsidedness while simultaneously saying Idaho is a better rival.

Dude, I don't think you understand the meaning of irony. Let me explain. We downplay the rivalry with the cats because we have kicked their ass for so many years. Then we tout idaho as a great rivalry, but they have kicked our ass as bad as we have the cats. See the irony? I wont count on it.kemajic said:You're both reading impaired and dense. I think the point is likely to be if you are regularly getting your ass kicked then you are more likely to think of it as a rivalry. If you are regularly kicking ass then you are likely to become bored with it. As much as some may believe that Idaho is a better rivalry then MSU, I doubt Idaho fans would see it that way, especially if they look at the W/L record of the series. Of course the best rivalries are somewhere about 50/50. With that criteria, EWU and the Griz are 5-5 in the last 10 years so that is probably why Griz fans consider it a good, current rivalry.indian-outlaw said:Dude, I don't think you understand the meaning of irony.
