JJ's next step?

He needs to exhaust his administrative appeals and then he has the right to seek judicial review of the administrative decisions (at which time he can raise any constitutional arguments he has about ex post facto application of new rules and due process). But look, he and his attorneys know that his case is currently being reviewed by the prosecutor. I would assume his attorneys would not let him waive any 5th amendment rights and testify or speak at the U hearing (anything he said could be fodder for his prosecution). So, the "evidence" at the U hearing would not likely include any statement or rebuttal from Johnson. Given the lower burden of proof at the U, the result doesn't surprise me. However, Johnson and his legal advisors have to be looking at the potential criminal prosecution and I would think therefore want to keep the administrative process ongoing.

+1

We have those posters ready to get a bunk ready in Dear Lodge, others that want to blame the coed and still others who just want to forget about it and talk about who the replacement will be. We are (again) going to just have to let the process play out.

BTW, does anyone know the "right" ratio for anti-depressants to red beer?

Kid's behave
Coach's Coach

Still having a tough time seeing why this whole mess is being blamed on the President, regardless of how he fells about the football team the moves being made seem like his only choice. Deal with the issue and move on.... How can anyone justify special treatment for a football player even if he is the starting QB?

SSH is the best game ready quarterback we have right now. GK is the best athlete that could fill the qb role, and McKinney is a work in progress with some potential. !
Huh? "Best game ready"; he has about as much game exposure as Gustofson. What has he shown to be "game ready"? GK has not impressed at QB and doesn't seem to be able to stay healthy. If you think McKinney is no more than "a work in progress with some potential" than you must not have been at the spring game. He is at the top of the remaining list in my view. If we don't get a ready drop-down, then it's time to go with the youth, including Gustofson.
Man if you guys thin Gustafson is game ready you guys won't win five games this year. I watched him play a ton this year and he is a good player and kid, but if you expect him to step in and play you will get beat bad. The kid is too raw and all it would take is one hit from a three hundred pound lineman and he would be done. His decision making isn't fast enough and simply put he isn't ready. Yes i know this kid and he is gonna be a good player and he is already a great kid with a good head on his shoulder, it's just not realistic for him to play next year.

It won't be Gustafson. If JJ is indeed gone I would bet that if the Griz don't sign a drop down it will be between Kemp and McKinney. I just don't see SSH a very good fit for this offense. Then again Rosie may implement more of a pro set dropback offense and if thats the case SSH may be the answer. I have no idea what to expect right now. I still think the Griz are the Griz and will contend for the conf championship, no matter who is under center.

The Kaimin just spilled the milk on JJ. I wonder if it will be now picked up by major media (sorry Kaimin).

It is on their FB page, Hammer. No story just a headline:

Quarterback Jordy Johnson has been expelled by the Universirty of Montana according to sources. More information will be posted when it becomes available.

JJ's next step should be to have some intense detailed discussions with his attorney, Dave Paoli.

If Johnson has a realistic chance of remaining as a student, and/or athlete, Paoli will know the path and outline what it entails. If it's not worth slugging it out, I'm sure Paoli will spell that out too. In this current environment with DOJ & DOE investigations, and scared administrators, I suspect it will be the latter.
:ugeek:

The reason for the abrupt firing was the remarks Pflugrad made about JJ when he came back to spring practice. Something about JJ being a leader and great person etc.

Then the "gang rape" issue of the Griz players. Three players rec'd a blow job from a willing girl and the Missoulian called it a gang rape. The incident caught on a cell phone was dismissed my Msla. police as not worthy of a crime. The missing wonder Missoulian and Gwen Florio have kept it (rape) on the front page with sometimes slanted articles in an on going parade for man hating women to enjoy.

JJ's world is changed for life because of this. If he is guilty of a crime and convicted then he pays the price his entire life. We can all say he got what he had coming, end of the story.

HOWEVER, IF HE IS INNOCENT, he is f--d for life. Many jobs available for us will not be available for him. He will NEVER be trusted, he will always be known as the QB that "raped that girl" and got off scott free. His life is and will be ruined no matter where he ends up. Think about it, he goes from being a hero QB to a total loser that got kicked out of college, disgraced.

Do I know the other side of the story? No. Do I know if he is guilty of serious or not so serious sex abuse? No. Do I know him or the girl? No. What I do know is this: If he is innocent he is screwed. If he is guilty most of us will hope he gets his due sentence. In ANY EVENT JJ is in a very bad place and it will not get better. I feel bad for all involved.

That's called life, dude. Probably need to get used to it. Have another beer, and put it on my tab.

Oh, it simply devastated me. I had to double-up on the Paxil, and add Valium to calm my nerves. I just kept mumbling to myself "how could it be? How could it be?" These mods are so ruthless and mean!

The mod that did it is so stupid, it takes him two hours to watch "60 minutes"
