JJ's Last 7 Games

Wow, amazing stats by JJ, I will say pretty awesome stuff. Not to be arrogant, but Vernon Adams of EWU has 17 TD's in his last 4 games. Sam Houston, last game in 2012 (semi-finals), 6 in the 3rd & 4th qtr alone, This year, #25 OSU, 4, W. ORE (D-2) 4, and FBS Toledo-3. Then you throw in McGhee from MSU, and you have a pretty tough Big Sky Conference.

In the two games combined this season, JJ has seven passing touchdowns.

He has only 8 incompletions.

I've watched a lot of football in my life, and I don't think I've ever heard of such a thing.

At least one of those 8 was a drop right in the hands of a receiver. First series at UND - second down across the middle. Third down hit Van for a TD. Should really be 7 incompletions.

And JJ still has, at least, 10 games this season with some playoff games this year. Then he has his senior year to wreck havoc! His stats are gonna be insane when his career here is done!

Lets add a couple NC's to his resume'!! :thumb:

Perhaps you have not been informed that we must kiss the ass of NDSU.

Last season Trent McKinney and Shay Smithwick-Hann each threw for 8 td passes. JJ already has 7 after two games. That just goes to show how much of a game changer this guy really is...

Adams is definitely a beast. Can't wait to watch these two throw down in late October. :thumb:

Nitpicking, but the title should say 8 games. The Griz played Western Oregon between Weebs and msu that year.

Queue getgrizzy to tell us all how he's not really that good.

Speaking of which, where the f*** has getgrizzy been off to? One would think such a big Griz fan would be enjoying this. 8-)
Or Mayor, who's convinced he has a weeny arm and can't throw over coverage.

Three QBs are not the most important thing in making a conference tough. Defense still wins championships; just ask NDSU. From top to bottom, how does the BSC rate defensively? Not so hot.

Even if JJ shatters records this year, he'll still have to win an NC to touch Dave.

2 in a row might do it, though. ;)
DD won against a heavily favored Marshall team. Winning against a heavily favored NDSU team would create the conversation. Montana is a much more balanced offensive team today than in '95, which gives the benefit in passing efficiency to JJ (strong running game), but overall yardage to DD, because he had to.

Because I was curious, I looked at the yardage NDSU has given up in 2012 and 2013

RMU - 88
Colorado State - 243
PVA&M - 192
UNI - 285
YSU - 211
InSU - 197
USD - 76
SIU - 177
MSU - 149
SDSU - 209
IlSU - 318
SDSU - 217
Wofford - 326
GSU - 430
SHSU - 391

Kansas State - 321
FSU - 343

Take from that what you will

No kidding.

He's also had a convenient absence as of late.

I’ve noticed there are allot of these types that are conveniently absent. I don’t think what is going on right now fits their cute little “e-shticks”.

Hard to get into character after 30-6/55-17 victories and JJ playing like he is.

Rest assured they’ll be back at the first sign of weakness.

Kem, I totally disagree with your statement about DD's numbers being a product of the Griz' poor running game back in the day or as you put it "because he had to". You make it sound like the Griz threw the ball because they couldn't run on anybody which was simply not the case. That was by design. Read CHOSE to run that offense. He wasn't forced into it. Do you think if Read was a Power I guy, they would have thrown that much? Or wouldn't have had better backs? Kelly Stensrud and Damon Bodie were an extension of the receiving corps. Maybe I missread what you meant, but DD's yardage those years was by design, not because of deficiencies in the running game.

As for the topic at hand, JJ's numbers are incredible. But what I like is the Griz have already went with two game plans in two weeks. The offensive mindset really seemed to shift against UND. They were also in the shot gun way more than against Appy and ran some pistol as well. It looks like Kefense and Gragg are showing the ability to be diverse, of course that helps given the Griz have an extremely diverse QB.

The diversity of the offense has been my most pleasant surprise to date with this team. I suppose surprise may not be the proper term, as surprise requires an initial expectation. Had no clue what to expect. I love multiple formations, using all of the personnel.

In short, ME HAPPY..
