JJ Trial

You guys are making it increasingly difficult for 1 in 4 daughters everywhere to stand up and press charges...
Because of what get's posted on an anonymous football forum? You actually believe that? Get real. What makes it hard for anyone to stand up for themsleves is a lack of a local support system. The people closest to them don't help and the victim feels too worthless and powerless to press ahead. I think JJ being prosecuted is fine but when he wins, he had better be fully exhonerated and not labeled by your ilk as "the football player who got away with rape". Fat chance.

I could honestly careless.... I jumped in when classless a-holes began dragging a "possible" victim, her roommates, her friends, her family, and MUCH of the Missoula community thu the mud in an effort to demonize her.

Out of curiousity, does this desire to defend alleged rape victims from demonization on the internet also extend to people who are allegedly raped by men who aren't starting QBs of teams that are rivals to your Eagles?

Since you seem to be criticizing Griz fans for only caring about this case because it involves a Griz QB, I'd be interested to see examples of other cases where you've felt compelled to rush to the defense of women who were being "demonized" on the internet.

Or, are you - much like the Griz fans that you're so quick to criticize - really only interested in this case because it involves a Griz football star?

Listen - if I was going to "criticize" fans of a football team, I would pick one that was better than 3-5 last year...

Having 2 daughters of my own, I was honestly pissed off at the crude, degrading and demeaning manner at which your most prevalent members dismissed and trashed women in general without knowing any of the actual facts...

Show me another site where women are treated as badly as on this site, and I will defend them.. but I will imagine that you will be unsuccessful in finding a site such as this... Which you should all be proud of... I Guess.... :thumb:

First off, this is a board about Montana football and therefore it seems like a good place to discuss JJ's trial, and not the general public's.

Secondly, as to people demonizing the victim's side, yes some may be, but if you have been following this case like many of us have from the start, you would know the trial is unfolding pretty much how the information has been presented on this site previously. I have not read one thing on twitter that has surprised me.

My point, is that many feel this should have never gone to trial and so far the case hasn't convinced many otherwise. That is why there are some that are throwing out disparaging comments.

My point is that it is as easy to put the alleged victim on trial. She understood the risks and events that would happen after the formal accusation was made. It is easy to accuse someone of rape but with that comes the great weight of being accused of a variety of things that may or may not be true. We've heard lots of them on this board.

You just summed up my entire point... Having 2 daughters, I can only pray to my God that they never have to be faced with the decision of filing rape charges full knowing that the egriz community (or similar) will vilify her for it, or let the guy off and not face the wrath that is Jerry Punch....

All you turds are doing is making it easier for the NEXT REAL RAPIST to continue his work... as what girl in her right mind would subject herself to the ridicule of JBS if she decides to press charges??....

You guys are making it increasingly difficult for 1 in 4 daughters everywhere to stand up and press charges...

The pussification of America.

Thank God the dumbasses in your dumb hick state don't run the country anymore.

  This is the 4th time this week that you used a form of "hyperbole"....

That word of the week calendar is really working out for ya.... I have never seen one, but heard that a 52 week "Word of the Week Calendar" was made for those too stupid for the actual larger Word of the Day calendar...

Don't worry my dumb little buddy... keep up the good work and soon you can graduate to the big boy calendar...

And each and every time I used it to describe you.

Huh.

As the old saying goes, the first time someone calls you an ass, ignore 'em. The second time someone calls you an ass, consider it. The third time, stock up on toilet paper.

Well, for you, it's lucky 4....

I just realized... isn't it ironic that our taxpayer's money is going towards paying for this trial & prosecution... but we can't support JJ financially in any way because it is against NCAA rules?

You can support jj financially all you want. He just wouldnt be able to play ncaa football afterwards.

And this my friends is what your gut wrenching, panty soiling, victim bashing is all about! Hoping that a guy who can throw a football is found innocent of RAPE so you can erase the memory of a 3-5 conference record!

None of you would give a rats ass if this was the Saudi National that the UM let loose after he had his fun... but it is your QB and that somehow justifies the slander and names that have been hurled towards this girl and her family...

If you HONESTLY cared about JJ as a person and not a QB, then ALL of you would have said "Hell YA lets contribute to his defense fund".. but in the end, that would defeat the purpose of all your fake concern for him personally! Keep it classy Griz! :thumb:
Some, and only some, of this post is correct. I have to wonder just where the "outrage"from, apparently, the entire state of Montana which is turned into this carnival, is for the Saudi student, who magically dodged the police on a rape charge! That is something that speaks volumes about the UM and its administration and the priorities of a large number of people up there....

While we are on the rape subject, what ever happened to your receiver who was booted from the team last fall for raping a co-ed in the dorm....think she was a volleyball player. Perhaps you didn't follow it closely as he wasn't a star player from a "rival" (ewu fan term, not mine) team.

Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2

Mr Bruce was immediately kicked off the team and kicked out of school pending the investigation and trial. School Admin noted that it was best "for the safety of the students on campus" that he not be allowed back in school....

JJ IS CURRENTLY attending UM is that correct?

I will imagine that it is these differing "opinions" between UM and MOST other Universities that the DOJ, NCAA et al are investigating UM....

Really? Are you that dense? The two acts aren't even close to being similar, the EWU dude was caught in the act in the dorm by witnesses to the crime.(note what UM did with a similar act in trems of Beau Donaldson, gone from the team and school) Not a he said...she said situation reported months after the incident, btw JJ was suspended from the team and it was his legal team that forced UM to keep him on scholarship and in school. Your volleyball coach was fired as a result of this act, but Baldwin got a raise...hmmmm, guess if it's a women's sport it is not that important at Eastern. Have you forgotten the EWU football player that pulled a gun on a Cheney cop?? You guys should keep your mouths shut, continue to recruit academic misfits, and leave the discussion to folks that have graduated from a real University, not a vo-tech.

Hyperbole much? Having a daughter myself, I would probably have a hard time letting justice run it's course if she were sexually assaulted. I am not going to make any statements in regards to guilt or innocence. Both me and my wife have stated that if our daughter came to us with this current scenario then we would be having a serious come to Jesus moment with her and point out her role in the situation and that we would not be comfortable with her going forward with a case based on what we know so far.

I am not in favor of exposing her identity or vilifying her or demonizing her or attacking her in any way. I am only speaking what we would do in the same situation.

spokaneman and JP - I've got a radical idea for both of you to consider. Let's just assume for a moment that JJ didn't actually do anything wrong, that perhaps he just might be innocent. For sake of argument, let's just call it a presumption of innocence. I know, it's a crazy idea, but if you think about it long enough it may just start making sense and then most if not all of your posts start looking pretty silly when viewed from that radical position.

Just some food for thought for you two and flower girl.

Does the "presumption of innocence" mandate that the "victim" and all her associates be gutted on a public chat site?

btw, I have a daughter too, she was a college athlete at a different school and was roofied and raped, and when she came to, kicked the sh**t out of the asshole. She understands the entire situation well, and wonders how a person can be raped and not tell your roomate 10 feet away, then give the guy a ride home.

I could honestly careless.... I jumped in when classless a-holes began dragging a "possible" victim, her roommates, her friends, her family, and MUCH of the Missoula community thu the mud in an effort to demonize her.

JJ could very well be innocent.. or he could very well be guilty but that is a decision for the court system. Adding additional pain and suffering to the "victim" and her friends and family is not necessary for justice to be served.

Showing support for JJ is understandably warranted, but there is a huge difference between showing support and slandering others...
That is possibly a two way street.;;

Oh, yes. Name calling. The last resort of the weak minded when their argument falls apart.

The vast, vast majority of posters on this board have been extremely fair to the accuser. Yes, there have been a few that have gone out of bounds, but for the most part, they've been called out on it by Mods or other posters.

I just wish JJ would get similar treatment by those on here with a clear agenda like spokaneman and tnt and argh, who would have sent him to Dear Lodge for 30 years of bread and water the day after the accuser "thought" she got "raped".

Because that would make you a f*cking hypocrite.

It's an unfortunate reality of the internet age that it's a lot easier to harass people than it used to be. I don't condone it (and I would strongly disagree with those who have suggested that Jane Doe's name should be leaked), but I don't think Griznation is any worse than anyone else in that regard. Do you think Kobe Bryant's accuser didn't get dragged through the mud on countless internet forums? Did you ever feel any great sense of moral obligation to rush to her defense on the internet?

I have a daughter too. I would be very very mad at her if she told a guy on friday night that she would do him anytime, pickup him up on saturday, went to her room with him, shut the door, kissed him, took off their shirts together and then...(that is for the jury to decide). But if you think there is no site on the internet worse than this one, then you have not spent much time on the world wide web. Again, I will repeat that there people on both sides of this that are way too emotionally invested in this process. I for one don't care if JJ ever plays for the griz again. In fact, I don't expect him to even if he is found not guilty. I think you are one of those that are too invested in this whole process as well.

Of course she's going to get dragged through the mud. That's part and parcel of accusing someone of rape these days. But does it really help us get to the truth of what happened that night? Does calling her Little Miss Muffet or a slut do ANYTHING to get to the truth? Does using a movie to define her mindset that night really do anything to prove Jordy's innocence? If Jordy is acquitted, it won't be because the alleged victim was a slut. It will be because the jury decided that Jordy didn't do it, which seems more likely by the day.
