JJ on Primetime

Ohhh. Shit. I didn't post this to bring up the case again. It went on for a long time and glad its over. I just wanted to know when it was gonna be aired and what channel. Hopefully this will be the final chapter in this mess.
I'm not callin' you out NL, You're not the producer of Dateline. I'm just sick
of it. It serves no purpose other than to sensationalize old news for ratings.
I wonder if they interviewed Gwen?

I shot dateline and email and we'll see if they respond. Thought it couldn't hurt to ask if they were doing a story or not.

Edit:
okay, highly unlikely I'll get an answer. The auto response would like me to snail mail them a letter and I dont do the twitter thing. whatever:

it will probably make missoula and u.m. look like a win-at-all-cost bunch of maniacs that unfairly to the accuser held a trial in missoula instead of moving it somewhere to get an unbiased jury. they'll probably show the judges chair with the griz logo on it and explain that the defense attorney played football here and the prosecutor was a season ticket holder. they might have some egriz posts to reinforce the implication of our out of control fan base spewing hate toward the "lying, slutty" accuser and gwen florio. they'll throw a couple bones to the defense, then turn back to the win at all cost stuff to wrap things up.

if they don't do that people will change the channel.

Really?

The only "story" here is that the matter was fairly presented to a jury and that justice prevailed in our criminal justice system.

I didn't know that facts going into the trial, and I was completely objective about it. But I paid close attention to the evidence presented by the prosecution, and it was very weak. The verdict was just.

This case has nothing to do with Gwen Florio.

In a vacuum courts wouldn't be influenced by outside sources/opinions however throughout history that has been proven untrue. It is people like Gwen that helped it get as far as it did and anyone who knows jack shit about our criminal justice system knows that it probably shouldn't have even gone to trial.

Its all good. I just was hoping that I didnt start a shit show thread thread where everyone was bashinh each othets post and blah blah blah on a subject that doesn't even matter anymore. I was just wondering if/when it was gonna air

Probably better if this just quietly goes away, without knowing how they would present this it could just bring more negative attention to the school despite the verdict, you never really know on these deals.

Thanks for doing that. Good thinking. Maybe this will go nowhere and no more damage will be done. I didn't think there would have been any damage at first but after a few other opinions were posted about this I can't help but think that if the program aired there would be more BS going on. Although... I was really hoping the show might air the reason why Pflu and O'Day got canned.

I'm a Cat fan and I really don't think dragging this sh*t back out on
the table is any good. JJ was tried and found innocent; end of story.
Let the kid move on for christs sake!
This!

The date was pushed to early January long ago. I still wonder if there will be a story. Seems pretty stale now. Don't think JJ or his lawyers ever talked to Dateline. Haslam, O'Day, Pflu did. Pflu only by phone. Probably some from the accuser's side. Not Engstrom. Not Foley, to my knowledge. Heard they weren't happy with UM's not giving them press credentials for a game last fall. One person posting in this thread communicated with Dateline on this matter.

it was stale, but then the james winston story broke, so its gotten interesting again. the real hook isn't j.j. or the way the story went. it's the way the town is and how it reacted. viewers are interested in how a town with a small time program can get so infatuated with a team that people can get in a win at all costs mentality.

The awnser to that isn't really rocket science... My god

When you have a million + population with zero NFL and zero FBS the next best thing becomes "big time".

To further this point, that next best thing became even bigger time by surpassing many FBS programs and also becoming the winningest program in all of college football over a 30 year period.

There, I just saved prime time or whatever an episode...

...boom

I don't know what will be broadcast, but I do know this. Since the truth didn't conform to the story that the media wanted to tell, I'm sure they lost interest in it completely.

What good would that do? You don't believe that what was said on the stand actually was the truth anyway.
