I think the UM Admin sees the writing on the wall on this. The ONLY way to get UM back on the right track is to clean house! End of story.
It's already gotten the state of Montana enough bad press nationwide (and I'm a Bobcat can fan). It is time for it to STOP. Reading all these posts I can see why UM got in trouble if their administration thinks like the posters and lawyers on this forum.

The Griz will always stay competitive in football with their facilities. All I know is if I had a QB who was putting MSU through this mess I would NOT want him on my team.
You're right I'm having fun with it.
However they have to be pre-torn because of the blend of fabric (wife has a few fabric stores)
Have no idea about Curry on the Rape Kits (or for that matter if one was used in this instance) St. Pats does charge if Law enforcement declines to pay for it.
No all 425 posts are not on this topic. (But then there hasn't been much football to discuss) But it is kind of fun watching the old ex jocks squirm when anyone has the audacity to suggest in light of "overwhelming evidence" there is a huge problem and no matter how much they throw themselves around it isn't going to go away.
The JJ hearing is particularly entertaining. Don't know how it will turn out. But the the one thing that is painfully obvious is the Mr. Paoli got lucky with his civil restraining order. But somehow he needs to figure out, he may have snuck one by the athletic honor committee and even the "alleged" victims attorney, but they aren't likley to get fooled a second time. A fair amount of his "brief" was a temper trantum, that despite a clear explanation of what his role was to be in the honor court, everytime he tried to expand it got smacked down even when he went to the Prez to complain.
The University is and will stand behind its disciplinary procedure. If anyone thinks they won't, had better guess again.
Again don't know how it will turn out for him on the rape thing. But he most certainly has victimized by a bunch of old ex jocks, jock wanna be's and jock sniffers thinking there is something more intrinsically important about the football team, than any other part of the university and everyone should stand up and salute. Apparently the guys concerned about concussions in football players were right. Way too many "fans" apparently had to many to know they and their "program" have been slapped down - hard.
There will be a great turn out and a class team this year and I'm looking forward to it. All of this is already mostly forgotten by an awful lot of fans. It became apparent just how sick some of you are when a kid gets booted from the team by the coach, he classed as hung out to dry too. Now the coaches are out to get you.
Where was it someone said you don't fix a cracked windshield with a sledge hammer?? Why no, the only way to fix it is to replace it, might as well get rid of it quick.
I wouldn't worry about it too much though, there are only about six still having this conversation plus an occasional drive by. I can only get a few to resort to name calling though.

@tnt: You are obviously not in the least bit concerned that JJ might be innocent or at least misunderstood. You either know a whole lot more details than the collective knowledge of this forum or hate the football program enough to not care if a potentially innocent person is branded a rapist (being expelled from school and being kicked off of the football team is really the least of his concerns). Frankly I would hope that everyone would be outraged that any accused person was not allowed to mount the best possible defense, particularly in a he said/she said situation because all accusations are cheap. Ultimately it is a slippery slope. History has plenty of examples of what will happen when just making an accusation is enough to get someone else in trouble. I have honestly not read anyone write here that a rapist should go free or even that rape is EVER OK. Hopefully all us idiots will be sufficiently contrite when all of the facts come out in a fair proceeding but until then I guess you'll just have to excuse people who actually believe in justice for all. A bit melodramatic I know but I also know really well what it means and what it feels like to be falsely accused and to not be able to defend yourself fairly.

The fact that people are supporting him makes him look more guilty? REALLY? Probably the main reason no one would stand behind him would be if he was absolutely obviously guilty yet that would make him look more innocent...? Man, that is one fine piece of logic. While I agree that more than a few people have really shimmied out on a limb here, you are a real piece of work yourself.

Shimmied out on limb is probably a good way to put it. How is supporting an alleged victim any different? "Support" is one thing the vileness directed to wards the University, administrators, possible victims is another. The win at all costs protect the program all costs mentality charged against the program is constantly confirmed with that stuff here. Once that's confirmed anyone associated is guilty, especially when it gets public. Fine in a forum but I wouldn't get to personal about it. Occasionally you might run into someone who is more concerned with a clean program than the mess we have had and they may be just as concerned. Here's the funny thing There has been far more "stuff" directed towards the young woman in this instance but JJ's supporters than towards JJ by his detractors.
There is a significant faction of posters here who recognize the JJ case was railroaded by a desperate, fumbling admin on a losing streak, under extreme pressure to even the score for all their errors of the past. Then there is another faction of high and mightiers like you who live perfect lives. You pile on at every opportunity and label the former faction as "win at all costers", when in fact the objective is some semblence of due process for the individuals involved. You are perfectly intent to throw the baby out with the bathwater because it fits your agenda. You continually lump unrelated cases together in an attempt to illustrate a trend that is not evident by the known facts.
