A lot of the knee jerk opposition to the ACA is based on misunderstanding, ignorance of the law and, quite simply, just the mindless hatred of Obama by conservatives. Two provisions of the law, (1) the extension of coverage age that allows my college student son to be covered under my policy, and (2) the mandate that insurance companies cannot deny coverage for people with preexisting conditions, has been a great help to my family.
Mindless hatred of Obama? He has earned every ounce it, and then some! He is simply the worst president in the history of America.
Oh man, I can't let that go. Obama is the worst president in history?
Has Obama started a war? Think hard, I can think of a president who started a war under entirely contrived reasoning about terrorism and nuclear weapons. Ten years later 4700 (or so) American dead, untold thousands dead who had the mis-fortune to live in the nation subject to this action. No nuclear weapons found and according to the 9/11 commission no association with terrorism. He also left office with the nation in the worst economic crises since 1929. Can you name the president?
You have no clue about the real reasons that war was started by Bush. Do you really think he went to Irag because of WMDs? It is humorous when people who think they have got it all figured out because the watch CNN news, start spewing things are are not even close to being reality.
In addition, do you know WHY Bush left office with the country in financial ruins? The reason was that Barney Frank and his buddy thought that every swinging dick in the nation should "be able to live the American dream to own a home". So, he creates legislation to basically grant government-backed home loans to people who had no possible chance of paying their monthly mortgages. This legislation also made it easy from crooked realtors/appraisers/backers to bilk billions of dollars from the system. This had ZERO to do with Bush.
But, your buddy Obama is doing such a great job of turning things around, huh? "Change we can believe in"! Yeah right, more accurately it is "change we can bereave in"!
Can't let this go either. The primary cause of the mortgage crises was failure of the bank and thrift regulators to regulate mortgage products offered by the institutions they regulate. The regulators were led by political appointees, appointed by the President. Had the regulators regulated there would have been no mortgage crises.
The current president is doing a good job putting the economy back together. The auto bail out is an excellent example of government action to repair the economy.
Job losses were largest in December 2008, can you name the president that month?
And what were the double-secret reasons for the invasion of Iraq? It's inspiring to know that someone on this message board is 'in the loop'.
