Jimmy Farris: Former NFL pro, running for Idaho congress

Wasn't Jimmy's one-handed catch the game-winner against Idaho, in the Washington State stadium?

Yes it was!!

One can't think of Jimmy Farris without thinking of him racing the horse and getting run over by it at the end of the race. I don't care who you are that is funny.

Yes but he caught a fade from Drew Miller on 2000 in OT against App St in the semis that won the game. I was there, it was on the east side of the NEZ. Place went nuts!!!

You are right about that one too Hammer. I knew he did it in a playoff game but forgot who it was against. If I remember right there was snow in the end zone.

Yes, this is because the "socialist idealogues" in the Montana State Legislature passed lesislation in 1985 and 1997 to make this program available in our state.

Yes, they are socialists. And, that policy is wrong and can not be supported as the number of individuals paying for it diminish. And, you have never understood much of anything, so why would I expect you to get it now?

Best of luck to Jimmy. House seats are relentless with a campaign cycle that pretty much never ends unless the other party does you a solid with lame candidates.

Go Jimmy Go. A lot of the knee jerk opposition to the ACA is based on misunderstanding, ignorance of the law and, quite simply, just the mindless hatred of Obama by conservatives. Two provisions of the law, (1) the extension of coverage age that allows my college student son to be covered under my policy, and (2) the mandate that insurance companies cannot deny coverage for people with preexisting conditions, has been a great help to my family.

Mindless hatred of Obama? He has earned every ounce it, and then some! He is simply the worst president in the history of America.

I'm not trying to pick a fight, I genuinely want to know why you think that. What has he done to provoke such ire? I'm tired of listening to (and occasionally partaking in) screaming political arguments and want to understand the other side's viewpoint. I think your claim that he is the worst president in American history is laughable so what do you have to say to stop my laughter?

Dude, if I have to explain it to you, you probably won't understand it anyway. I could write a 500-page book about it, but let me try to approach it from 40,000 feet and cut to the chase. On a macro level, Obama is a socialist idealouge, who envisions a nanny state in America in which all decisions for every American are made by bureaucrats in Washington. To simply it further, when any democracy gets to a point in which they have an increasing number of non-producers being supported by a decreasing number of producers, that society collapses. It is happening now in Greece and Italy, and will happen soon in Portugal. France and England are not too far behind those countries.

I have spent 35 years in the healthcare industry. Obamacare will be the most devastating piece of legislation in the history of this country. Quality of care will diminish to unacceptable levels, access to care will be a disaster, and services will be rationed.

Again, I could go on and on. Suffice it say that Obama is a novice when it comes to economics, foreign policy, and business. The Peter Principle has set-in with him long ago. Another 4 years of Obama will make the U.S. a second-tier power to China and India. We will be on an equal level with Western Europe.

This is not just my opinion. This opinion is shared by some of the smartest economists and business leaders in the world.

Dear Growler pickle man,

To state that someone cant understand something just because they ask you to explain something is the sign of stupidity and a weak mind. Your entire rant after your idiotic start has no actual facts or evidence to support your assertion that Obama is the worst president in history. If your going to pretend to be smart, try to actually act like it. Also, stating that other supposedly smart people agree with your viewpoint doesnt actually make you sound smart either. Smart people back up thier claims.

On topic -

Kick ass jimmy!

Everyone in this country needs to follow your example and start working together, compromising on both polital isles, and finding ways around people as stupid as growler, the college Coed "Slut" Patrol (AKA Rush Limbaugh and his mindless minions), and some of the screamers to the left as well.

The extension of the coverage age simply changed the maximum age from 25 to 26. If your child is still in college at age 26, then it worked out well for you.

The mandate to require coverage for pre-existing conditions doesn't officially take effect until 2014, although some insurance companies have been proactive in removing exclusion riders, but it came with a price to consumers who will encounter MUCH higher premiums to cover underwriting costs for those pre-existing conditions. (someone's gotta pay for it somehow, right?)

Both mandates along with the entire PPACA could likely go away dependent on the Supreme Court decision.

Not uncommon, especially if kids go to grad school.

Yup, it's pooled risk.

Hope not. "Funny" how the GOP favored such mandates before Obama proposed them.

Oh man, I can't let that go. Obama is the worst president in history?

Has Obama started a war? Think hard, I can think of a president who started a war under entirely contrived reasoning about terrorism and nuclear weapons. Ten years later 4700 (or so) American dead, untold thousands dead who had the mis-fortune to live in the nation subject to this action. No nuclear weapons found and according to the 9/11 commission no association with terrorism. He also left office with the nation in the worst economic crises since 1929. Can you name the president?

You have no clue about the real reasons that war was started by Bush. Do you really think he went to Irag because of WMDs? It is humorous when people who think they have got it all figured out because the watch CNN news, start spewing things are are not even close to being reality.

In addition, do you know WHY Bush left office with the country in financial ruins? The reason was that Barney Frank and his buddy thought that every swinging dick in the nation should "be able to live the American dream to own a home". So, he creates legislation to basically grant government-backed home loans to people who had no possible chance of paying their monthly mortgages. This legislation also made it easy from crooked realtors/appraisers/backers to bilk billions of dollars from the system. This had ZERO to do with Bush.

But, your buddy Obama is doing such a great job of turning things around, huh? "Change we can believe in"! Yeah right, more accurately it is "change we can bereave in"!

Oh, please tell us all the top secret reasons we went into Iraq! LMFAO!

I don't share info like that with individuals incapable of understanding the big picture. Keep getting your education from the talking heads in the media. They will enlighten you.

Ugh. I shoulda known that no matter how cordially I asked, my question would immediately be greeted by rhetoric, theories without evidence, and insults.

Good luck Jimmy.

I don't get into political discussions with anybody anywhere, much less on the internet. My political views, my religious views, and my business are just that. Mine and I don't try to influence anyone else, nor do I let others influence me.

However, G1 your thought process escapes me. You claim that Obama is a socialist idealogue who wants the government to think and speak for you, yet you do the same thing. When asked for specifics, your response is that those who ask are too dumb or weak to understand or process the information for themselves. This sounds a lot like socialist thinking to me.

I too have worked in the medical field for nearly 20 years. There are some aspects about the legislation I think will work, and others that I think wont. I do know that with spiraling premiums, many businesses and families are getting priced out of health care insurance. The system as it was is also unsustainable. Lets look at this as a starting point and find a way to effectively cover as many people as possible without killing the innovation and creativity that our current system fosters. This will require hard work and cooperation from both sides of the aisle. I don't think either side is capable of this right now. It is an election year and to much posturin right now.

By the way. How bout that red headed kid?

I generally don't start political discussions, but I don't hesitate to dive in when the, shall we say, progressive side of the argument isn't being adequately represented.

But unlike people on both ends of the spectrum who foam at the mouth and speak in absolutes, I can still have a beer with my opponents after we agree to disagree. :)

I don't waste my time discussing subjects with people whose myopic view, 100% of which they derive from watching the mainsteam media, is so flawed and uninformed that that it can not be taken seriously by anyone with real knowledge of the situation. I am speaking of healthcare "reform". I sit on the boards of two healthcare companies, and attend many seminars on heathcare policy. Like I said, why waste time discussing issues with clueless individuals? And, I am not speaking about you. Just generalizing.

progressive is a nice word for socialism. Socialism has never worked in any society through history. Figure it all, dude! Learn something about history instead of following your favorite liberal celebrity hypocrite.
