Well, many of you have been wanting this. The prediction of Griz going against Gonzaga. Griz seeded 14th, and Gonzaga seeded 3rd. To be played in Salt Lake City, UT in the Oakland Regional.

So, here is to everyone that has been wanting this to pray this prediction holds true.

Anyway, Griz seeded 14th is where I think they will considering both RPI and Strength of Schedule. Griz RPI is 60, and Strength of Schedule rank is 183. Except, 3 teams that he has seeded 13th seed has worse RPI rankings than Griz, and 2 of these 3 have worse Strength of Schedule rankings. Which still leaves 13th seed as a possibility.

But, Griz need to win a game in the NCAA tournament so to bring more respect to the Big Sky Conference. So, although, Griz may have better RPI and SOS than some teams seeded higher, respect will likely hold us down from the seed that Griz really deserve.

Anyway, Jerry Palm has been pretty accurate with his predictions, He isn't 100%. Plus, today's bracket isn't likely to be the last one, and his predictions will change. Just all the other bracket predictions out there.

Makes sense. According to ESPN's Insider, Lunardi has the 14 seeds with around the same RPI as the Griz had yesterday, but has yet to be updated today. A 3-14 matchup between the two teams could bring a lot of good things, considering our prior games with the Zags a few years ago. Who knows, we play this game tight or come out with a W and I'm guessing that the UM-GU game is back for years to come.

I sure hope Griz can get Gonzaga back on the schedule. When they were, the games had pretty good attendance. Now that the Griz are on the upswing, the games would be guaranteed sellouts.

One thing that really hurts the Griz and a reason why 13th seed is only a possibility but not the likely seed (even though Griz have a higher RPI and stronger strength of schedule then some seeded 13th in the bracket prediction put by Palm):

Wins against teams ranked above 50 or 100, and losses against teams ranked below 100 or 200.

1. Stanford is ranked 78 now and is the only team Griz beat ranked above 100 (thus no wins against teams ranked above 50).

2. Griz lost to 4 teams ranked below 100, 2 of them ranked below 200 in RPI.

The above 2 points are 2 things the selection committee looks at. So, it really bums me out the Griz lost 2 games on the road they should have won. They lead them both but couldn't hold on to the lead. Those two games were against Weber State and Idaho State. I think if the Griz won both of those games, a 13th seed would be a very likely seed to consider. Plus, if they beat Wisconsin-Milwaukee along with beating ISU, and WSU, a 13th seed would have been a likely seed but 12th seed being a possibility. And, if they also beat NAU, and PSU which they should have, 12th seed would have been a very likely seed.

Except for the game against ISU, 12th seed was not that far off.

This season is a successful season, but it could have been better. Next season, Griz lose Criswell and Matthews. They will be missed, but on the other hand, will be replaced. I expect a better team next year.

Krysko has Montana improving in baby steps each year. 3rd place last year, second place this year, and .... First Place next year  ? ( I hope)
