I was thinking the exact same thing about the legal penalty. Granted, I don't know what the standard penalty is for something like this in Missoula County. Two years, even suspended, seems wild for a misdemeanor. Probation, sure. Two years, suspended seems excessive if a suspended sentence means what I think it means. My understanding is that he will have to say he was technically sentenced to two years in jail. Maybe someone can help me understand?

The sentence is deferred, not suspended, which means he has no record if he stays out of trouble for 24 months. It only works if he is committed to walking the straight and narrow. He has an outstanding criminal defense attorney. We will not see Jeremy Calhoun in trouble again after he completes his suspension.

Whew, got it. Thanks! I don't know where I got 'suspended'.

Maybe you had read my incorrect post right above your post.

Ha! I honestly think it was the title of the thread that put it in my brain, but good call.

OK, enough talk...when is Jeremy coming back to play? Is he practicing?

I believe he's been practicing all fall. Certainly wasn't getting first/second team reps in pre-season. I would guess that we might start to see him after game 3, but don't know.

Okay. $500 that Calhoun was given the N word during this incident. Put up or shut up.

Different subject Mr. Know It All and you know it! Old white "Chuck Rhodes"...you know the guy whose son you know very well and used to play fat man city league hoops with...the same "Chuck Rhodes" who you bet me $500 played for the Griz bball team in the '50s.

.....but on further review you were blowing smoke. Old white "Chuck Rhodes" apparently never did letter for the Griz bball team. (Black) Rudolph "Zip" Rhoades (different spelling) in fact did star for the Griz bball team in the 1950's. His name throughout Griz media books...the same Griz media books that have records of basketball letter winners going back quite a ways (the '50s) where there is no "Chuck Rhodes" listed. HA!!

I sure hate to change the subject of this thread but hoping some on here see you for the blow hard you are. I did the research to confirm you didn't have a clue...and you quietly went away....never to be hear from (or pay the bet!) on the subject again.

Put up or shut up!

Put up or shut up.

Okay, so you are afraid to bet me on the Calhoun thing? Right?

The prior question was not whether Rhodes "lettered" for the UM. It was whether he played for UM in any year. I need to visit the athletic office to do some research and/or check some old Kaimins. Still think I'm right.

I don't recall ever actually making this bet with you, but please give me that language where the bet got made with you if I did. Feel free to PM it, and the link, if you want.

Lucky for you don't think a bet was made. As to the "Calhoun thing" you may be right...I wasn't questioning whether you were or not. Something was probably said....that's how fights usually start.

Go check some old "Hymens" and report back on old Chuck.......it's been over 6 months.

Okay Mousegriz, are we betting, or not?

Here is the bet. Did my friend John Rhodes' dad, Chuck Rhodes from Indiana, play basketball for the Univ of Montana in Missoula (or whatever UM was called then) in the 1950's? I still think he did. I just can't imagine my friend (or his dad) made this up.

The bet would be $500. Or, if that is too much, then $100.

Let me, and the board, know. I'm tired of you being a big mouth on this one. Let's just settle now (or soon), one way or the other. I assume you're not going to slink off and hide.
