Jacks QB at Reds

I think this is awesome, good for them! As long as they didn't get carried away (by the way what time do bars in Missoula close?) this is great. An experience these players and fans will never forget! What college is all about!

The bars close at 2:00 am, but I doubt the 'Jacks were out that late. I think it's awesome too. I'm sure it's all about football today for both teams.

Let this be a lesson to Griz fans. Next time you see players from an opposing team out in the Missoula bars, it is your duty to buy them at least five bottles of Cuervo or some other rot-gut. Nothing takes away team speed like Jose Cuervo.

I love all the banter that goes with Football when both teams fan bases get together, it can make for a lot of fun. When Texas state and Sam Houston ST were here we had a great time at the tailgate with theses folks, and even some of the up and coming players that just made the trip.
Its great for the game and the State when players and fans go home and rave about how they were treated. Its been said more times then not how fans from other teams loved coming here.
Now on the field come Saturday at noon

Fellas, fellas, fellas... are you seriously falling for this ploy? This SFA team has the griz right where they want them and personally I think it's a heluva smart strategy. They've been hearing all week about the griz mystique and how loud the stadium can be for opposing teams, and how much the crowd gets into it, etc. This plan was hatched by the QB. He did a little research and found out who the owner of egriz was, found out where he was going to be Thursday night, just happened to show up there with some other players, buddied up to Chris knowing that his website is THE place for griz fans to gather... took some pics, made a bunch of friends, heck - I think he even posted on this site! Now griz nation likes the kid and will likely take it easy on him tomorrow with the crowd noise. You guys took this hook, line, and sinker.

I think that is pretty cool. I like to think that they were blown away by the hospitality of Montana people. We like to have fun, have a few drinks, and like to meet new people around here. And Missoula is the best damn place in Montana, and I'm glad these Lumberjack's were able to get a glimps of that....can only hope they will still think fondly of there trip here after we send em home for the season. ;)

It's easy to hate the opposition to the Griz when they're in uni's with a helmet on, but they're just college kids enjoying life. We're all the same. Kudos to their coaches for letting them go out.

The Griz are still gonna roll um tomorrow. :-)

True, nothing like a good tequila. Now, as far as taking away team speed, this is mostly true unless you're running for the bathroom :puke: :butt:

I have to agree with most of you. If you were a 21 year old Griz having a chance to see a Texas town for the first time, and of age, on the Wednesday night before a Saturday game, wouldn't you like to check out a cool town? Or find out that it isn't a cool town? And have a Moose Drool? What is so wrong with that?

Okay here is a sticky situation
In Montana the legal drinking age is 18
In Texas, from what I have been told, the legal drinking age was raised to 21 on September 1, 1986.
So if they represent SFA which rules apply for them?

Huh? The drinking age in Montana has been 21 for a long time....since 1987 according to my google search.

Regardless, I am surprised to see the SFA boys out on the town, whether they are legal age or not. You would think the coach would keep them on a pretty short leash during a road trip for a big playoff game. I have a hard time believing that Hauck would be very happy if he saw pictures of his guys drinking at the bar a couple of nights before the game.

I too find it odd the kids were out on the town before a playoff game. I cant help to think about Willie Joe Namath partying the whole week before Super Bowl # 3 and kicking a$$. I think their coach is just saying come on guys lets have fun, we are a good team and just wants them to relax against a savy 17 year in a row playoff team. If they win it will be a masterful move of, just let boys be boys if they get beat well, they were suppose to any way so what did we lose! I think SFA will get a lesson on what it takes to be a 17 time in a row play off team. We have played for the NC 6 of the past 14 years, thats an average of every 2.33 years the GRIZ play for the NC! The weather, crowd, our experience and our team will pound them on Saturday. Go Griz!

the only problem with your argument is that there are only one or two cool towns in texas: austin and... austin city limits?

I will line up drinks any time for our opponent before and after the game, but once in Wa/Griz stadium, well game frickin ON! Unlike them cat "som bitches" we Griz fans just love competition. Some thing we have not seen from our Pencil Necks from the east in quite some time, may i add!

Um, Austin City Limits is a TV show.
San Marcos is 30 miles from Austin and has some good night spots but if the Griz ever came to play TXST I'd head up the interstate to 6th or 4th streets for fun.

The left hand is the TXST sign. Not sure which hand SFA really uses to form and 'L'? I think

In the TXST sign (left hand) the index and middle finger are the Texas panhandle area. The thumb is west Texas (El Paso area) the ring and pinky fold down to point to the 'heart of Texas..ie: San Marcos

Actually, they are holding up 2 fingers. That means they believe that they are going to be the 2nd best team at Washington/Grizzly Stadium tomorrow.

Griz are #1.

Go Griz!

What ever finger they are showing, that wont mean nadda when the game is all over! Them Texas boys will be leavin Montana wishin they were playin for the GRIZ come Sunday Morn!
