Moses is listed as a Junior, and if he redshirted that would make him 21. Although I don't agree with letting your team party when you get into town, relaxing and not being under complete lockdown does help keep a team loose. We'll see if/any affects on Sat. GO GRIZ!!!

This is awesome. Of course, if I was a fan of SFA or a coach - I'd probably have a different reaction.

There are many bad situations that could result from outings like this. Fights, excessive drinking, etc.... It would make me nervous as a coach and that's probably the main reason why many ban or frown upon this type of behavior.

At the very least - I would be pissed that they wore their SFA school issued gear into a bar. First off - that's not the best way to represent your school. On top of that - you are just asking for attention. They are lucky they ran into a friendly bunch of fans. There was a chance with alcohol involved that this may not have been the case and turned into a nightmare.

Most of all - I would tear them apart for posing in pictures. It's one thing to go to a bar. It's another to blatantly sport school gear. But knowingly posing for pictures to prove the whole thing happened? How stupid can you really be?

I actually find this amusing and wish I was there to buy them a round. I think it is all in good fun and shows they are probably a likable bunch. Nice job Chris and other Griz crew. I wouldn't expect anything less out of the Missoula crowd.

But I sure could understand how somebody would be pissed about this. I think it says something about their level of smarts - or lack thereof.

Man. Don't YOU sound like the life of the party. :? :? :?

To all those who were at Reds and showed the SFA guys a bit of hospitality - THANK YOU!

John

I agree thanks to everyone at Reds who showed them a good time in montana. I guess i can see some other points you guys are making too. Really the onlything I would be worried about as a coach is if they met up with some of the opposition that was not so friendly. You know there is always that one drunk dumb ass who has to start shit. But I applaud SFA for going out and meeting people.

Hey Bud, that law is in reference to religious practices, such as, cough, choke.....Catholics.......My extended family are Catholics so I suppose I can comment.....

The BrAC law for anyone under 21is they are subject to a citation if they are at or over .02. With that being said, you'd be hard pressed to find an Officer who would cite a JUVENILE who was less than .04 to .05, unless of course the JUVENILE was being an ass, which of course we all know teenagers are anyway... ;)

Another thing...

BAC stands for BLOOD ALCOHOL CONTENT

BrAC stands for Breath Alcohol Content.... lifeloc, breathalizers and Intoxilizers use BrAC, not BAC....

When I was bartending at the Montana Mining Company, I served underagers (1 drink) or supplied a wine glass, if they were with their parents - and their parents approved. I didn't care if they were Catholic or not.

My wife doesn't agree with me, but I don't mind if my kids have a few sips of alcohol in my presence. They are 13 and 14.

The SF Austin team had a little slow start this morning! ;)

No it wasn't just because the players were out late last night, either.
The Truck with all their equipment in it at the Parkside, wouldn't start due to the cold!

at least they said the cold wouldn't effect them!

Had a blast with these guys! They are really nice kids and were having a lot of fun! Had some great conversations with them and few drinks. They said that when they first showed up they thought they would have one drink and pretty much be pushed out of the place, boy were they wrong. They said they have NEVER seen fans such as Montana Fans and the hospitality they received. Glad to be part of it! I for one think its great that they were out having a little fun and celebrating their success making the second round of the playoffs!

Overall, great kids and I wish them the best! I even told them they could watch the semifinals on ESPN2 :)

Thanks for posting the pics and story. It looks like everyone was having a great time.

I'm glad they could experience a little bit of Missoula night life before they have to make that long walk back in to the visitors tunnel as a defeated team on Saturday.

at least they got main street plowed so we don't have to take the dogs and sleds to the stadium!!

That's great. I hope the Jacks had a good time and were warmly welcomed everywhere they went. This was Thursday night right? A couple beers two days before the game isn't going to hurt anything. And the community excitement for Griz football is something every visitor should experience. There are few places that come close to offering the same.

Fellas, fellas, fellas... are you seriously falling for this ploy? This SFA team has the griz right where they want them and personally I think it's a heluva smart strategy. They've been hearing all week about the griz mystique and how loud the stadium can be for opposing teams, and how much the crowd gets into it, etc. This plan was hatched by the QB. He did a little research and found out who the owner of egriz was, found out where he was going to be Thursday night, just happened to show up there with some other players, buddied up to Chris knowing that his website is THE place for griz fans to gather... took some pics, made a bunch of friends, heck - I think he even posted on this site! Now griz nation likes the kid and will likely take it easy on him tomorrow with the crowd noise. You guys took this hook, line, and sinker.

Good for SFA, I hope the Montana crowd made them feel welcome. Got a chance to see a little about the town and hospitality they have most likely heard a good amount about, and blow off some steam.

Ah, gee whiz! I miss all the swell stuff with all the cool kids. :D

I was thinking the same thing; here I am sitting at my office, justifying all the reasons I came up with to stay home and not travel to Missoula this weekend and hang out with the cool kids. I am ashamed of myself. I guess the least I can do is stop pretending I am a productive employee and go home and crack open a beer.

I doubt that the other Montana fans present would allow that to happen.

At least they weren't there with the boys from Frenchtown and their Bachelor Party....

those BOYS were lucky they were not shot!!! they were pretty damn close to being shot...if the person behind the gun thought they could have lived with killing. could have been multiple shot. crazy things starting on the streets of missoula lately.

I think this is awesome, good for them! As long as they didn't get carried away (by the way what time do bars in Missoula close?) this is great. An experience these players and fans will never forget! What college is all about!
