Are you coming to Missoula, Slostang?

Wish I could, but my wife is out of town next weekend and I get to be a soccer dad to my two daughters. I will not even get to watch the game live and will have to watch the DVR version when I get back from a day of soccer. As much as I love football, going to Missoula and Cal Poly there is nothing better than watching my two daughters compete. Have a couple of cold ones for me.

If you are saying the gauntlet includes EWU and you're basing the Griz not being legit partly on playing NoDak, well, the Griz thrashed NoDak way worse than EWU did today.

Interesting. Under this line of thought, MSU must be a whole lot better than Montana (see NAU).

I don't think this is the case and the bottom line is that teams match up with one another differently. If you're basing your assessment on one common opponent I'd say that's a flawed approach. And for the record before anyone starts blasting this post, yes, the Griz look to be very good this year, perhaps better than EWU or MSU, but I guess time will tell.

If we can get through these next two games unscathed, we'll definitely be in great position for a conference title and a seed in the playoffs. MSU will be the toughest game we have left, and they honestly don't scare me all that much.

They have stepped up their run game the last 3 weeks but the key is still Adams. He buys a lot of time with his scrambling ability and shiftyness allowing his receivers to take advantage of coverage breaking down. The receivers he has this year have been quite productive, but nowhere near the talent level of last year's trio. They forced 4 turnovers against UND, one was a pick 6 and the other UND had driven into the red zone only to fumble.....the game would have been much closer.

Difficult to say, because we've shown a bunch of different looks so far this season and this offense is different than anything I've seen at EWU. You'll most likely see everything from 5 wide and sling it around to double-tight sets, read and speed option, all in the same game. But it all revolves around Adams. A lot has been mentioned about losing Kaufman, Edwards, and Herd, and those were big for sure but I really haven't seen any drop-off in production...there is a lot of young talent there - I have heard that the coaches feel like Cooper Kupp might end up being better than any of "the trio", and that's saying something.

So maybe using 3-4-4 defense might be just a useful as nickel or dime. I'm not sure we have what it takes to run a Tampa 2 coverage?
