It's not bitching...it's called REALITY

Many on this board recall the Griz "glory years" like a jilted lover. They remember and over emphasize the all the good times and forget about all the black eyes the Griz took. I remember many games where the Griz gave up 30+ to far lesser teams at home.

Stats are for losers. W's and L's are the only thing that matters.

This.

You know it! Tired of hearing this many yards and that many yards and compared to games in 2001, blah, blah, blah. We won (by a lot) people! Take it. Be happy. Hope they are really prepared for the next game.

Not to mention that well over 100 yards of that was given up against the 2's after the game was 55-20....I'll take that performance all day long and twice on Sundays.

The Griz have NEVER had a dominating defense. 2001 is as close as you could come and I would call them good or the best defense we have ever had with our 2009 team a distant second.

The BSC has never had a dominating defense either IMO. Montana 2001 is the best one I remember and once again it was good not great.

Dead on balls accurate. #91.

I think some of you guys like rimrockgriz need to get a grip on reality. Div I college football is a very tough business and just because the fans sit back and demand that their team wins doesn’t make it happen. There are so many variables that go into a successful college football season and sometimes the best teams don’t always win. The griz have been running against the wind this year for sure and frankly I’m surprised they have done as well as they have. How ‘bout give ‘em some credit for that.

It’s just a game kids and if your happiness is hinged upon whether the griz win or lose your life is way too easy and you need a different perspective. Show some appreciation for the huge effort put forth by these guys’ week in and week out. If they lose show some respect to the other athletes whom have obviously busted their balls. If you’ve ever been an athlete at a high level you know what a grind it can be... Keep in mind that most Div I college football players will retire from football with a lifelong permanent injury. As fans I suppose you have the right to piss and moan about how good the griz are doing because you paid the price of admission but at least try to keep it in perspective.

It is amazing, we have so called fans on this forum that all they do is bitch. I think if we did win another title they would still bitch because we didn't do it convincingly enough.
We are 4-1 but some make it sound like its 1-4. I'm so fricken tired of hearing how we haven't played anyone yet. Well shit, if the pollsters are correct we won't make the playoffs if we win out. If we beat Cal poly and EWU that won't help either because Cal Poly just got beat by Yale so clearly they suck and if we beat EWU then they were not as good because we beat them and we lost to NAU. So no matter how I see it we are screwed.
BOTTOM LINE IS THERE'S A BUNCH OF FOOTBALL LEFT AND LOTS OF CHANGES TO COME. At this time I'm going to write off the NAU loss as just a dumb ass did not show up to play team. Take out the frying panhandle game and the rest have not been to bad. If our D can clean up a few things and gel a bit more we could and will be a damn good football team. We will know the story in three weeks for sure!!!

What some people forget as well is 2004, when the Griz lost to both Sam Houston AND Portland State yet somehow made it to the National Championship game. If I recall, the Sam Houston loss was particularly awful and Portland State was had a Portland State season (not very many wins).

grizre#1 nailed it. This board has always been unstable at best, but the whole "we haven't beat anybody" theme is getting pretty tiresome. FIRST, these same "nobody's" (panhandle excluded) are are being hyped as really, really good teams in the five days leading up to the game. Then, after the game, the same posters who post "this is the biggest game of the season for the Griz" run back to Egriz and tell everyone the Griz still aren't for real because the team they just spent the whole week touting now sucks. It's completely skizo at this point and my god it's not even to the halfway point yet.

And the point I'm making has already started in the UC Davis thread as people are posting once again how good this week's opponent is and how tough the game is going to be, which I have no problem with by the way cause I'm sure the aggies are salty. But watch what those same posters say on Saturday night and Sunday morning should the Griz win, especially if they win by less than 14 points.

Whew...I just finished reading the comments. Not too shocked by anything. I'll make a few comments and move on to Davis. I have NOT brought up a single stat in my comments. I agree with many of you... stats are bullsh!t. There are a few pros here who pick out the # that fits their agenda and they run with it. Currently,.. ANY stat comments are AMPLIFIED with DII games...PSU at least 2...so I'll wipe after I hit submit. Take my fandom elsewhere??? F.U. I added 2 more season tix this year. I made no mention of any athlete's name. Attention whore...? I've started very few threads. EWU is coming in soon...with conviction I can say the team who tackles will win the game. All the way back to when that p...k zornes ran the prison... I'd love to leave zootown with a big smile after we roast their asses. :egriz:

Our defense is not dominant this year, but so what, our offense can put up alot of points, and I will take a high scoring game that the Griz win anytime over a like a 13 to 7 defensive battle. Yes the Griz miss alot of tackles, but it looks to me like all the teams we play miss just as many tackles.

This is just an observation but the cats held an All-American running back to just 27 yards this weekend

Just an observation, but you neglected to address this in a previous topic, so:

Past three years, UM and MSU each have two playoff wins. UM has a trip to the national semifinals while MSU has two embarrassing home playoff losses and another shellacking on the road. All that regular-season success the past three years in Bozeman and NOTHING to show for it in the playoffs, except two closer-than-they-should-have-been home wins. So you are right, UM's "we used to be good" mantra has no relevance in this post - whatever that means. What is relevant is the fact that once the playoffs roll around, MSU wilts. Perhaps MSU will be No. 1 again when the Griz come to town...we all remember how the biggest regular season game in MSU history turned out, right?

My view is that most people who complain too much don't know enough about football to contribute much of anything else, are mainly just trying to get some attention and get a rise out of other posters, and never played or understood the game at much of a level. They claim may be fans, but in my view they are bad fans. They have no clue what reality is.

One nice thing I've noticed in this and the other complaining threads, is that there are alot of posters who do in fact understand where the Griz are at this point of the season and obviously understand football.

Naaaa remaining undefeated in conference play is reward enough

You don't have a clue about football, and most people on the board know that. Just keep talking your nonsense. Are you going to giving a parade of cliches now?
