It wasn't the play calling.

The fumble for a safety on the 2 yard line was Big for Poly!
What fumble for a safety? Do you mean the fumble they recovered in the end zone for a touchback?

Yes, he is a lawyer, but also was a very good college football player. That said, I don't agree that you have to play college football to have a credible opinion of a football game.

I agree that people don't have to have played college ball to have a credible opinion on football.

I'm fine with this thread, but this looks like it will be the parade of no-nothings and people who never played the game.

So says the d-bag that started another 4th down critic thread...you think our opinions about never trying for chip shot field goals and constantly f***ing up 4th downs is going to suddenly change...the Griz are lucky the coaches did not cost them the game.

It looks like you are nothing more than a troll...how is that coaching career working out for you dumb@$$...you are like the Al Bundy of eGriz constantly reliving your old glory days that in your mind were hall of fame but in reality not so much just like your coaching career and football knowledge so STFU already
Don't feed the troll.

Good point, I cannot stand that idiot, bet he is a fat@$$ grumpy old man. I added him to my foe list so now I never have to read another post by his loser @$$ again. Thank you eGriz for that option!!!

Why all the venum? Have I really gotten under your skin that much? Posts like this make me chuckle. It seems out that someone can get so worked up about internet back and forth.

If they would have came out and played like they did in the last two mins this game woulda been over in the 1st quarter. Instead they beat the piss outta Canada and knocked Van outta the game. Cal Poly seems to have problems on the pass D but the coaches never took advantage of it. I don't understand that. Yes they picked one off but JJ wasn't getting a chance til it came down to giving him the only thing to do. Then the racked up 14 unanswered points and won. Maybe the game plan was to wear down the D but I doubt it. Who waits til the last to mins to come back and win in OT? That don't make sense. Seems like after the BOOing things turned around. And where the hell was Counts after Van got hurt? MD even said before they started the second half that they were gonna get him and JG going but never seen then. I did see JC gettin his ass kicked all over the place on a 3 & out drive pinned inside the 10. Then they started throwing the ball. That's what I saw anyways.

If they woulda kicked a FG or 2 they woulda likely lost. I think PR is pretty close in most most his posts. Yours? Not so much. Just sayin.

Yeah, the Griz wouda definitely lost if they woulda kicked a FG or 2. That 3 or 6 points woulda really been a disadvantage to them for sure. They will likely lose any game they kick any field goals in.

Just sayin cause you guys are football geniuses and likely former all americans in division I-AA. The FBS and field goals are for pu$$!e$ anyways.

It wasn't the play calling it was Cal Poly's defense, that is a great bunch and they came ready to play. Right before half Mick and the crew won the game for the team by running the clock out IMO (by the way, I was yelling for a pass too). The offense was pinned inside the 5 and had been going nowhere, no need to make a mistake. That decision killed enough time off of the clock to prevent Poly from doing any more damage in the first half. This coaching decision most likely saved a field goal attempt that would have won the game for Poly. Jordan Johnson had a couple batted balls, his first interception and was held in check for the most part by this defense. The only time Montana had ANY success throwing the ball was when Poly went into prevent. #41 for Poly is a beast he is as good as anyone in the Big Sky. I take my hat off to the kids AND the coaching staff for a game well played. I have a feeling they will see these guys again in a couple of months. You can hate all you want but that was a damn fun game to watch and this team is 6-1 with Mick calling the shots.

Offensive coaches are flat out idiots on UM. They have a team capable of performing like the last game winning drive every drive but would rather beat their heads against a wall the entire game with a NOT WORKING game plan.

IT WAS THE PLAY CALLING for the most part.

Is it possible that PR and Mr. Alpha are twins separated at birth by a Grecian God parent (or someone line that)

Would probably have to have Alpha singing "I'm my own grandpa" instead.

I think Gurns put it best on the radio when he said to Mick, "do you ever feel like you are just banging your head on the wall" in reference to the play calling. It was bad until they had to get aggressive and let JJ do what he does best and pick apart the D. Cal Poly was ready to defend the run and they did. We should have adjusted to it earlier and we didn't.

It all starts up front. We went to the passing game in Arizona and just about got Johnson killed. The o-line needs to execute better for any game plan to work. I really think Poole is a better tackle than guard. Schmaing seems to struggle with fast hard charging d ends. Daly will give him fits. Not to mention the fact that Delaney has publicly made it clear he will run the ball on offense and stop the run on defense. Bottom line is the offensive line is not getting it done. Gragg needs to get this fixed pdq.

Do we even have a screen pass or QB draw ANYWHERE in our playbook? Why beat the crap out of Canada when you have # 21, #34 and #36 to give the ball to?
