Gonzaga is official.
That's gonna be a good Basketball conference. Gonzaga and SDSU will be the cream of the crop, but Utah State and Boise State have solid Basketball teams too.

Very solid BB conference.
St. Marys and GCU would be very good Basketball adds as well if they choose to take them. GCU is really good at pretty much every sport they play.

Not sure I understand your point of view on this.
The stature of the Pac 12 (or at least what it used to be) and what they hope to become in the future doesn't seem aligned with adding Grand Canyon.
UTEP to the MWC now official. That puts them at 8 Football members and 7 full time members so they need to add 1 more. If you remember, there were rumors last week about Texas State. Haven't heard anything new on them recently. Maybe if UNM would quit being babies they could add NMSU and put this all to rest.
Meanwhile the PAC also has 7 full time members and 1 Non-Football member, so they need to add one more Football playing school as well. Unlike the MWC, there seems to be zero rumors as to what other Football schools they may add. Seems like both leagues are running out of options at the FBS level though.

If they're stupid enough to target Tarelton then good riddance to the MWC
The mountain West is already a shell of its former self considering all the good teams left and they are taking trash teams like UTEP.

I think it's a stupid decision 100% (some rumors are saying it's to put pressure on Texas State, supposedly the MWC only wants 2 Texas Schools) which if true I kind of get. However then what's the point of us continuing to invest in facilities if we're expecting to sit here in the Big Sky where most members don't care about Football nearly as much?
Them not looking at good FCS schools has nothing to do with whether UTEP is trash which we all know it is. They're probably only talking to schools that have reached out and expressed interest. No one knows whether any of the Montana or Dakota schools have done so.

They assume, like many, that this isn't the final shoe to drop. They are working to position themselves for any future opportunity.

I think it is FBS over FCS unless you have favorable geography, such as Texas or California. I don't think Montana and the Dakotas measure up.
