If you think you would sell out WaGriz every week for a mediocre FBS team you are nuts. I can speak for my self no way would I keep mine to watch some .500 team play hoping someday to get to a toilet bowl. And currently can’t even out recruit MSU for players (just lost another yesterday and top 6 MT kids are already committed to MSU) try going head to head with those schools to stay competitive. Best facilities/home field in FCS and are not even close to being top recruiting school, hell not even best in the state. Look how Bobby did at UNLV and you will get the picture of what it would look like

There’s a reason Wa-Griz is always sold out. People love Griz football. Going FBS won’t change that. Not going to games because they’re in the FBS is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard

Nothing would change around here. We’d sell out. Probably even more so with FBS teams coming in. If the G5 does a playoff then I’d be all for moving up. FCS is so stale and no one but us care.

Yep. Arizona State is playing in San Marcos TX this weekend…playing TX State, a team we rolled several years ago but made the move up. THAT’S the kind of OOC you could get instead of Morehead St. Boise State, Utah, WSU, etc., etc.

We sell out for mediocre FCS conference and non conference.

This has been discussed. Wyoming is lumped into the Denver metro media market.

Laramie is still 2 1/2 hours from metro Denver. The biggest draw to that media market just walked out the door to the PAC-2+. Air Force and Wyoming cannot draw as much out of that market as UC and CSU. Laramie has what, 30,000 probably more when school is in session? Wyoming is barely over half a million. Missoula and Bozeman together is 130,000 alone and over a million in the state. Denver’s population is 700,000 and maybe twice that in the northern Colorado region.

And there may be pros and cons to moving up but go check out the recruiting losses we have. Only ~ 10 of the guys we took shots at did we lose to other FCS schools, but we did lose a lot to some really crappy FBS programs that we wouldn’t have lost to if we were FBS.

Also, it would be a hell of a lot easier to find home and home series and home games in general if we were FBS.
