..after watching the weebs we understand the Griz just don't have the horses..weebs were a tough
physical team..we got to get back to who we were..lets get the new coach and the start
ass-whipping!

Watching Weber right now. They have way more strength and speed than the current Griz roster. it’s not even close imo.

That plus a good coach is why Weber kicked UM’s ass a month or so ago.

I don't agree. I think we have great talent on the roster. With Jensen being a second year starter, a good coach will be able to win a few playoff games next year and not make excuses. Go Griz!

Jensen is a good player with huge upside. Agreed.

But overall team speed and strength is severely lacking. Just watch some playoff football.

I've been watching. I think our guys can hang with most teams talent wise, but the coaching was lacking. The new guy will bring great coaching back, and we will have absolutely no reason to go 7-4 missing the tourney in the next two years. I'm going to have major issues with the staff if they don't make a legit run within two years with this roster and guys coming in.

I remember when Hauck came in the first time. People were bitching that he took the names off the back of the jerseys. This was his way of making them earn being on "his" team. He came in with attitude from day one....and then lost to a D2 team at home. It will be interesting how he takes over this time, if it is indeed him.

I expect a bsc championship and a couple playoff wins. With that said, overall team speed and strength is lacking.

speed + strength + skill = Talent.

Did you just watch the Weber/WIU game? You really think the 2017 Griz beat either of those teams?

I’d bet you your favorite keg of beer for the beer delivery device under the toaster you watch games on in your garage that the next coach isn’t going to spend ten minutes explaining in two separate press conferences why he’d never seen anything like it, (after 20 plus years of coaching) & after spotting them 31, if they’d gotten a turnover in the second half that they’d have beaten Weebs.

This was as good as it was going to get.

He sure as shit had better do better than 7-4, I know that. Returning QB, great receivers, improving defensive talent, etc. No excuse to lose 4 freaking games next year. Period.

 Fuckin' right! I can finally say good riddance now that the season is over. The future is looking very good to me.

If the coaching would've been worth a shit, we could've beaten Weebs at their place this year, sure. There was very little passion in the first half in that game. A good coach would have them ready to play, that's for damned sure.

However, I think he saw the defensive and ST weaknesses (by no means do I think he is stupid), but either chose to ignore them, or thought his offense could overcome them. Obviously not the case.
Sounds like Ash's philosophy at MSU.

Bobby will take these lemons and make great lemonade, but let’s not act like this is some roster bursting with talent and depth. It’s not.

yes, it would have been possible. look at the second half of the weebs game, and then cue the weebs apologists (anti-stitt crowd).

Well, looks like 2018 will be fun since we get Weber, WIU, and UNI..!

The young WRs are very good and will only be more developed after the new coach gets after them in the spring. I think all of these guys (secondary especially), with this year being fed to the wolves under their belts, will be much improved next season. Add some swagger and BH & Co. should take this team very far. If not, something is very wrong. I'm not tolerating any excuses this time around, that's for sure.

Hauck is inheriting a worse team from Stitt, than Stitt inherited from Delaney.

Can we all agree on that?

Delaney’s last 2 years
2013 - 10-3, 3rd in bsc, playoffs
2014 - 9-5, 2nd in bsc, playoffs

Stitt’s last 2 years
2016 - 6-5, 8th in bsc, no playoffs
2017 - 7-4, 6th in bsc, no playoffs

You sitting there with a beer in your hand, getting drunker as the night goes on. And the posts are getting dumber and dumber. If you can't see the overall talent on this roster AND the speed at the skill positions, then we are all very lucky you have nothing to do with recruiting. Moses is going to blow your mind when you see him in the open field, probably faster than JLM. Our LB's consistently could get to the edge because of speed, and it was commented on week in and week out by individuals that certainly know more than you, and your beer.

And let us not forget, you''re the dumb **** that tweeted Reese about how aweful he was, and embarrassment to Griz Nation.

In terms of results, yes. In terms of returning talent, not necessarily. Delaney had Johnson; Stitt had to break in a guy not many of us were sure about. Hauck is going to inherit an equal, if not better, roster. I think the current roster is loaded with very talented younger guys. After all, it wasn't the players, it was the coaching.

Even so, it's really an academic argument. UM made the change because the results were unacceptable no matter what the team had in the stable. Like Kem said, there is no reason we should have to wait for great results. I don't intend to accept mediocrity next season. A good coach will overcome issues and not make excuses.
