ISU vs. UM...

It is obvious we are a much better/more athletic and better-coached team than you. We were the same last year, minus the coaching... Tell Dlouhy that he is entering a WORLD OF PAIN when he comes down here. The Student section will be 2,000 strong, waiting with open arms!

It is amazing how a perennial doormat in the league, can get so uppity with a few wins. You are on a hot streak, when you prove you can sustain it for an entire season or even a couple seasons then you should think throwing around this type of smack around to a program that has dominated ISU for decades.

Oh my! How quiet it is in GrizVille on this thread this morning. Whatsa' matter....no bitch-slaps for Bengal fans this morning? Hmmmmm....79-69....almost total domination by ISU last night. Shhhhhh.....listen.....can you hear that pin drop? Actually, that was a sound recording of crowd noise in Dahlberg last night while the Griz were getting kicked around like an empty tin can....

Actually...after years of feeling tossed like a bad bull rider every time we go to Dahlberg...I couldn't resist just a little of "rubbing your noses in it". I hate trash talk and don't feel it ever contibutes anything positive to any discussion.

I hope Montana can pick itself up off the floor after last night and get it together. It would be great to see these two teams playing for the league title in the tourney.

I WAS at the women's game last night in Pocatello, and have to say that Montana may as well have been on the court alone during the first six minutes of the game...blowing up to a 25-4 lead and keeping ISU from scoring even one basket. But during the last 34 minutes of the game it was totally the opposite. If ISU would have started the game when the LG did...the Bengals would have won by ten or more.

I'm NOT looking forward to playing the LG in Dahlberg...it's about as fun as playing with a rattlesnake.

Congrats on winning in Missoula for the 3rd time in 31 games. 2000 in Pokey, oooh wow, that will be just like the NCAA's the Griz were in last 2 years while your team was hiding in motel rooms so the FB team wouldn't kick their asses.

You have a nice team, you should be proud. I understand completely why you act like you haven't been there before, because you haven't. You got a nice win, now see if you can develop some class.

C'mon Grizbacker--you know ISU can't develop class--they just develop thugs!

With a history like the GRIZ have--who would have ever guessed that the Mighty Griz would ever struggle?

Now drop the GRIZ threads and get on the Bengal Bandwagon--it's all good.

BTW--I once saw a Grizzly D-Lineman cost his own team a National Title by going WWF on a QB--He should have played in the black and orange. Bengal Hall of Fame--maybe?

I know it was a pretty nasty fall and play but you guys are that bent out of shape about Dlouhy essentially pulling a guy's jersey? It wasn't intentional and he didn't punch anybody or anything. I guess I don't see it as a HUGE deal...

Re/Max....if an ISU player would have done that to Dlouhy at Dahlberg...you'd have crapped your pants. Hey...DD had a good game last night...but some people are destined to be remembered for certain plays thay make...and planting Kinghorn on the back of his head under the basket last year will always be what DD is remembered for here in Idaho....except at his high school in I-F.

Now to make a point about the class fans in Missoula...I was doing an ISU/Montana game at Dahlberg back in the 80's. ISU had a 6-7 forward named Mike Denkers who played as blue-collar of a game as possible, every single game. ISU lost the game, but Denkers had one of those games where he spent all night either skying for rebounds, or diving on the floor for loose balls. He also suffered from pretty severe asthma and always had to have his inhaler courtside. When he finally fouled out late in the game, every fan in Dahlberg Arena (probably close to about 7-to-8 thousand) gave him a standing ovation...it was one of the classiest moments I've ever seen in a hostile arena...

I don't think I would have, but I guess I can't say for sure. In seeing the replay it was clear that he wasnt intentionally wanting to harm the guy. I would certainly see it as a big deal with ISU fans if he were to have done that with an intent to hurt Kinghorn. But thats just IMO...

i was at the game when the dlouhy foul happened. while the isu guy hitting the floor wasn't pretty, dlouhy's actions quite obviously weren't designed to cause the guy pain or anything - the fall was more a fluke than anything. moreover, the true cheap shot artist in that game was slim millien, who got away with bush league stuff much more intentional than dlouhy's foul the entire game. still, i've never in my life witnessed an uglier crowd than at that game. in fact, even though i hope isu wins all their games except those against the griz, i'll never go to another hoops game at isu. the crowds are neanderthal.

you seem stressed. maybe you should see if Phil Luckey can give you a little rubdown :finger:

You really had no other choice than to tell me to F-OFF in your own special way. Out of respect for you Grizbacker--I'm going to ignore your last post and hope that you can come up with a more clever response than that.

Nah, the response was already too nice for you based on your BS

was that aimed at me? because i posted the same thing directly after the isu game during which the infamous "flagrant" foul occured. as far as the crowd at that game - well, as i said, it was ugly enough (not raucous, not loud, not anything sportsmanship-ish, just ugly) that, as i said, i won't go to another isu game there again. maybe my whole line of thinking was skewed by my 110lb wife being called racial slurs and threatened by some local yahoos at the game - for clapping (CLAPPING!) when the griz scored. i dunno. she left, i left, we aren't going back. i'm sure the world will still revolve around its axis, and all that.

ps - i work my ass off for the benefit of students at isu and for the advancement of the institution itself to the tune of about 80 hours a week. i'm pro-idaho, pro-isu (the academic institution) all the time, except, of course, during those twenty minutes a day when i'm the fictional character "argh!". oh, and except for when they play the griz.
