Agree, the one ingredient missing from.Cody Hawkin's recipe to make ISU a good to great Big Sky team is a stout, competent defense !!!I didn’t watch the cat game yesterday but it looks like ISU went toe to toe with them early as it was 20-14 early in the second quarter. Good to see them come out with some juice. Cooke’s numbers don’t look too bad as he was 20/37 for 307 yards 2 TD 1 INT. Just like when we played them, they couldn’t run the ball at all. They only had 36 yards on the ground.
If ISU wants to take the next step, then they have to have some semblance of a defense. They’ve got the offense where it needs to be to win games, but the defense can’t stop a runny nose. Regardless, the cats did exactly what I thought they would do to them. Perhaps a promising sign though that they surrendered 300 yards through the air.
Also, his Bengals tank was running on almost empty a week after playing us, outside in a downpour @ 5,000 feet in Boz Angeles and it showed on both sides of the ball for ISU. !!!
