Is e-Griz part of the problem?

Raider, here is my agenda. I support UM athletics, but the Player Reps of the world, the boosters that can not stay away, make me sick. I support UM athletes, but when they screw up, it needs to be dealt with. I am realistic to understand that the rest of the Big Sky is catching up with Montana, even with the advantages they have. Is this having an agenda?

I definitely think the eGriz community is part of the problem... some posters can't resist the urge to post & spread rumors that have absolutely no merit. These rumors hurt the reputation of those involved, & in the worst case (JJ being expelled) can cause a wide spread ripple effect.

Rachac was a f*cking idiot & absolute tool for spreading a rumor like that. Absolutely irresponsible, but I think it is safe to say that if a poster on a message board heard the same thing he/she would probably have done the same thing. Look at some of the other posts on the board even after it was shown that JJ wasn't expelled after all.

I know that fans come to this board to talk football & BS, but the spreading of rumors needs to stop. People need to keep some of these things to themselves before it really hurts someone.

Then, if this crap about J.J. was true, people could be up in your ass for not posting about it on Egriz. Egriz the problem? I think not. The Pres tried the bandaid approach and cut the head off the monster when he got rid of the coach and athletic director. But weeks later the monster had a new head and it was business as usual. Missoula used to stink because of the pulp mill now it stinks because of a few bad decisions at U of M. Grizzly football needs to grow a pair and adopt a zero tolerance policy and cut any player, coach, water boy that gets in trouble. Maybe then this board will get back to talking football offense and defense instead of legal offense and defense. I’d like to see the Grizzlies bring a national championship back to the great state of Montana because of the quality of the football team both on and off the field instead of the quality of their attorneys.

Your Kantian framework doesn't really work in the real world of competitive college athletics. There is a modified code of conduct and a review panel that handles discipline which was implemented this off-season that will adopt more accountability in the system. Yes things suck right now and I wish we didn't have to be hearing about all of this but quite frankly if there's a mix of player/team wrongdoing but also administrative wrongdoing I'm glad we've got attorneys in place to be a part of this to some extent.

Nothing I like better than someone who pre-judges everything based on what they read on a message board or see in a bankrupt newspaper's pages. I am withholding judgement until the investigations are C O M P L E T E. Hell, they really haven't started and you know it all already. What a joke.
