Article in the missoulian said it came up for discussion but not voted on. Regent Jeffery Krause, who is bozemans mayor looking for reasons to not approve focusing on the transfer of the property to the UM foundation during construction despite msu doing the same thing for their stadium construction project.

If this were true (appears it is not) Krause would look like a heal & very petty.

The fact that those assclowns even get to have a say on something that is all privately funded is a joke.

BOR - UNANIMOUS !
It’s written to allow athletic facilities to be constructed and fundraised under the foundation,” Reid said. “The foundation controls the revenue and funds to construct, then turns it back over to the university. The university is very much in control of the project.”

Good to see. The last paragraph in the paper reads "regents took no action Friday on the proposal, but advanced it for further consideration". That sounded bad. First paragraph in the on-line story reads It was approved Friday. Ha ha, my bad for trusting the paper. Or maybe they voted after the Papers deadline.

Schweitzer appointed regents with stronger ties to their communities than higher education. Now each regent lobbies for his home campus and screw the rest. Krauss ultimately voted for it because he'll need his back scratched too at some point. So much for the greater good.

Not to mention the fact that the same BOR tries to govern both university systems. That's the real joke.

I know its been discussed in other threads, but this just goes to underscore the importance of severing ties with the albatross that is State U. I love the idea of consolidating all (or most) vocational/agricultural programs into their network of campuses, and freeing up UM to realize every bit of its fantastic potential!

 Was that a Rime of the Ancient Mariner reference in a post highlighting the inferiority of MSU? If so, that is all time.
