Is a big RB already on the roster, just not at RB?

Rs freshman out of Federal Way; Brody Martinez has the potential to be a feature back. He missed his entire senior season with a knee injury. Have not herd about him in a while. We will probably see come spring ball.

John Santiago from UND, a true Freshman who is listed at 5'9 170lbs, averaged about 130 yards per game and put up close to 1500 yards on the season. I don't think of it as being a certain size but instead a talent. We need a talent. Maybe Calhoun or another will emerge as that guy. Like what ice heard and read of Brody Martinez, too. We need the guys up front to blow up holes for the backs too which seemed to be a problem.

Santiago is very fast with a special burst and "to the house" top end. Seems to have all the other tools as well. Will likely be 195 as a senior.

Canada, Van, Yo & Chase were all average sized guys.
Yo, Canada and CR were very capable of running north to south. The OL had a good idea where they would be. It is unbelievably difficult to block for a guy like Nguyen whose first instinct is to slide east to west, especially when he's the slowest of the group and incapable of running through a tackle. Chase played like he was 220; strong, tough as nails with exceptional peripheral vision that enabled him to pick up lanes in an uncanny manner. Yo, Lex, Chase were in a class by themselves. We need another.

Love to have one as well. As you indicated, Stitt doesn't block the running game like Glenn, Hauck, Pflu or Delaney. I've watched, like you, a lot of football and while I think I can recognize X&O concepts, I'm not sure of what he's trying to accomplish. May not be a difference of any kind until Stitt adapts or the line can impose their will. I think there needs to be a concerted effort to run outside more often, not just between the tackles. Nyugen's best runs were having bounced or directed outside. Probably because the defense was stacked up looking inside.

And one of the best stiff arms you will ever see.

In most of the videos I have watched on Col Sch of Mines they had either a moster big back or a very large QB that was capable of running up the middle. I have no doubt Coach Stitt wants to be able to do that.

Holden Ryan is switching to defense. He will be playing LB. But yes, Stitt should look at playing him at RB. Similar size to MSU's Newell but Ryan is clean-cut and doesn't wear face paint. Also, way more athletic!

Any thought of Holden Ryan playing RB? He is big, pretty fast (4.56 according to hudl) has played position before. And watching him power run in shrine game with 2 torn labrum was impressive to say the least.

Reminds me of Matt Szczur, Villanova's WR/Wildcat/Returner athlete.

Holden Ryan is one of the upcoming guys Im most excited about. I think Stitt is thinking slot receiver with him but I don't really care just GET THAT KID ON THE FIELD!!!! I think he's a total mismatch for any LB in the slot and can see him at tailback also. Get the ball in his hands one way or the other!

Again. Ryan is switching to Defense. Agreed, Stitt should look at him for RB but he is going to play LB....

Why would he switch to LB? We have plenty of depth there already.

He will be an awesome Linebacker, watching his high school tape, he was a truck on defense. Very versatile athlete.

Not saying I agree with it, I am just telling you what is happening. Also, I would say our depth is unknown with all starting linebackers graduating.
