Since the start of the 2012 season when Delaney took over, the Griz are 6-7 in conference games and 4-4 while on the road..

I dont know about you but thats a pretty tough pill to swallow. That definitely is NOT what Montana Football is about..

I'd be more worried about the home conference record of 2-4 . Close to being 1-5 If Poly game goes the other way.

All these stats keep getting brought up like everyone has totally forgotten about the 2012 season. But 5 of those games the Griz have won, in 2013. Look on the bright side of shit. Since October 20, 2012 the Griz have only lost one road game. Three weeks short of a full year with no road losses. Maybe I buttered that one up to much. But, they're not doing to bad this season. A big comeback win against CP. I think CP is a tough team and had a pretty tough schedule.

But having a conference record like that, how are you going to compete with the rest of the country when you cant even hold down your own conference?

I see exactly where you are coming from. It does look good at all. But with one of those wins they only lost by 5 against the #3 team in the nation and coulda (I hate bringing up this coulda shoulda woulda) but if that penalty never happened they woulda won it. And it's not like the Griz are penalty prone.

Throw out last year because of the no JJ and the firings etc. What worries me is the last 8 quarters. JJ is back and the Griz have struggled in 7 of those quarters. Playing great at home was always a Griz "hallmark". I don't know. You tell me?

Anybody know why that penalty (blocking with hands to the face) was called?

It sucks to have a TD called back. I didn't see the game, just listening to Mick & Gurns.

You can spin it however you want, the stat is fact. 2012 was a tough year and
2013 is better but could end up pretty bad as well. No more excuses. They either figure out a way to get it done or we end up somewhere in the middle of the Big Sky. I, for one,am not ok with that. At some point in time we have to stop blaming the stuff that went on in 2012 and start playing Griz football. I am pretty tired of hearing the same old excuses.

Here is my take on the recent struggles the Griz are having lately. Our running game was pretty good at the beginning of the season, new offense and everything but teams are watching us on video and have found a way to stop our running game and our injuries at the position arent helping out at all.. I dont know if Canada will be able to carry the load but he has been playing pretty well this year since he started taking playing football serious.

Our offensive coordinators are suborn as hell in regards to running the ball up the middle. They need to be able to adapt to the game. I know you dont want to completely ignore the running game but give our offense a chance to play to their potential. You hear the coaches talking about how smart JJ is, well let him make the calls then.. Open up the field a little bit.

So in my opinion our play calling and execution have not been up to Montana standards and its costing us games.. :twocents:

It was a legitimate call. Very obvious and had to be called.

Excellent Analysis!! Mick needs to realize its ok and a damn fine idea to have a plan B AnD mix it up a bit. This running the ball and getting stopped is gettin old. I don't think that happened at all in the first half of the season but as soon as there was enough film to study of this new look programs figured them out and stopped the run. It's completely stupid and insane to run the ball 3 times in a row with their backs up against the wall. Then keep doing it for the rest of the game until they've gotta go with the hurry-up. They (Mick and Co) have to realize this and if they don't idk why they can't see it. I know Pee-Wee coaches that could figure this out.

I'll add, and when they do mix it up (not enough IMHO), things generally seem to go pretty well

Yeah for sure! Hell, even the hurry up offense is destructive to most. The CP game was very intense. Last weekend was to but just not enough time. I think the only screen they have ran was when JJ hit Counts and he blasted 51 yards for a TD in Grand Forks. Granted it was only UND but hey, it worked.
