Good post. A few nits:(Deep Breath)… 1st off, UM's new facility is very nice. I like the way it fits into the campus and will be used by more than just the football team. It will be a huge benefit to the University. Now let's go through what you said...
1) My guess is that you are saying the MSU did something "Shady" to raise the funds for their IPF. I don't see any evidence of that
2) The 80 yards was because there is an indoor track around the field. I am cool with that. Don't really want to get into a yard measuring contest.
3) Washington Grizzly Stadium is great, but the issue is, it can't expand at all. Yes, you can add more seats, but the "Guts" of the stadium are what they are. The GFP has talked about this a bit in the past on their show.
4) I have never been in the Adams Center since they remodeled, so can't speak to it. But I will say it is designed more like a Basketball arena than The Brick is.
5) I think both the "Champion Center" and the BAC are amazing. I don't see one being better than the other.
6) Both the "Champion Center" and the BAC have amazing locker rooms and Recovery centers, so again I don't see one being better than the other.
7) Here is where I can agree with you again.. I am not a fan of the stadium being 4 blocks from Campus. I wish it was in the South Parking lot area of The Brick. MSU is very spread out right now, but I THINK some of that is to do with the fact that they didn't plan to double in size over 20 years. I also don't know if anyone REALLY thought we would have 20K people at games all the time.
Overall, I don't know what will happen to both schools in the next 10-15 years. But I love the fact that both have set themselves ahead of not only their conferences, but ahead of their level (In football). It is an exiting time to be a Griz or a Bobcat... Now you can roast away at me!!!
1. Why didn't they just build the IPF 20 yards longer. No clue where it is, but it looks like the middle of a field of nothing. Just build it a bit longer?;
2. If not a basketball arena, for what was the MSU fieldhouse designed?; and
3. I disagree with anyone who says WaGriz can't be expanded at all. The SEZ could look like the NEZ, and the west sideline could look like the east. If need be, of course. Need probably never will be, but it's been executed in the past.
