Class AA football title went to the Bozeman Hawks after the kickoff on opening night of the 2013 season!! They were that dominating!

Butte was in the 2012 title game vs Bozeman. Butte didn't make much post season noise this year. No D.

Heard that Eric Dawson from CMR is going to Carroll. Turned down partial from the griz. If not for missing most of the year with injuries, he could have been a borderline fbs player imo.

Anyone have any insight to where Dallas Cook is headed? I think it's safe to say he isn't going to be a Griz, and MSU can't have amny full rides left with all their verbals, plus Ash said he isn't using a scholly on any QB in this class, and I'm quite certain Cook wouldn't sign with the Griz or the Cats at any other position. Two more points...

Weyer was under center and had a fantastic running game (OL and RBs) that he could use, and run play-action passes off of that would keep the defense quessing on every snap, hitting wide-open WRs that read run when it was pass.

He would also hit Dissly on short to mid-range passes, and the Beast would break tackle after tackle enroute to a 70-90 pass TD. He did that on several occasions. Padding Weyers yardage. I recall one pass play to Dissly where the defender fell down at the completion and Disslly then ran alone for +70 yard TD.

It was no suprise Dissly had 900 from the TE postion, no one could (or wanted to) tackle him.

Whereas Cook was in shot-gun and the defense knew it was a pass. He didn't have the benefit of play-action. He still torched defenses. And yes Cook had good WRs...what flippin good QB doesn't? None!

If you're going to talk about how Weyers yardage was padded because of YAC from receivers, then I think it's only fair you discuss how Cook threw primarily short passes that his receivers then took for large gains. Lets not act like Cook was out there throwing bombs all game...he was throwing little bubble screens, slants, pretty much everything in a 2-15 yard range, rarely ever throwing deep. Sure he would on occasion, but not often. Spread offense also work incredibly well in Montana as long as you have a better than decent QB and at least 2 receivers...defenses here are too used to Wing-T offense and other run heavy schemes. Again, I'm not insinuating that Cook is bad, he's clearly a good QB, I just think Weyer is better.

As for Cook's scholarship offers...in one of Colter Nuanez's articles/blog posts, he stated that Ash made it sound like Cook never had a solid offer from them. If that is true, (and it's hard to say either way, then I would imagine he wouldn't have a solid offer from us either.

Man that's cold. The Cat's sent him shit tons of letters over the last few years. I think Dallas is gettin jobbed by both schools, hoping he will walk on. At MSU, we have so many QB's on the roster, that you can't swing a dead cat without hitting one. No pun intended. I think Dallas is getting screwed over, big time. I'm hoping Kramer picks him up. I don't wish ISU on anyone, but Dallas is a full ride kid and should be treated like one.

Phat Cat, I'm one hundred percent sure he has a standing offer from UM. I was told he did from MSU at least at one time. I'm guessing with how many out-of-state waivers MSU has already promised to their verbal committs, that offer may not be there for Cook anymore.

Having said that, I can't see how a kid who publicly said he wanted to play college football outside of Montana is being screwed over by Montana schools.

Been saying since this summer that it doesn't look like he has many options to play D1 outside of Montana. Was told by PaytonLives and Colter on BN that he is "getting looked at by several schools" and "will definately sign D1". Won't happen. Bet he goes to a Junior College where there is certainly no guarantee he will ever start.

I went to PT school with a couple of people who did pre PT at Bozeman and PT at Missoula. They went on to be pretty big griz fans. I also know a few who remained cat fans. I think PT can look at things a little more impartial by going to both schools. Doesn't mean he is a cat fan.
