If it was as simple as a coat of paint, costing a couple grand, it would have been done already.

Something needs to be painted or replaced. They know it won't be replaced in the short term, so . . .
It is that simple, and it's not done.

Kinda like a moldy weight room/locker room. Seemed like a simple fix.

Yeah, and that got a pretty decent coat of paint.
Enlighten us non-traindrivers. Why, again, can't they paint the bleachers? Is it too complicated?

EDIT:I think it's pretty simple. You get paint, and then you put the paint on the thing that needs to be painted. You can use a brush, or a roller, a sprayer, or your hands. Whatever the method, the main thing to remember is to get paint, and then put it in the area that is in need of painting. Sometimes, people forget a step. Those people usually forget to either (a) get paint, or (b) put the paint on the area that needs painting. Those are the possible pitfalls you have to avoid when you to paint something that needs painting. I hope this helps.

I'm sure MSU is also using the 10 year rule.

It's pretty hilarious that they can't figure out how to paint something. Hell, they have a fully functional shit pond that is the pride of the school. I know they can figure out how to paint. Check out my tutorial above, and maybe pass it along to the higher ups.

From what I understand they plan to build offices and etc behind the scoreboard area for administrative/training areas and that is their priority before replacing the East Bleachers. They need to raise money for it and I wonder if they are hoping for a big donor to step up and fund it?

As far as the plan goes, basically, yes.

The first phase is going to be administrative/coaches offices/weight room similar to UM’s champion center. So it’s not officially a part of the stadium, but close enough and would definitely change the look. Second would be the replacement of the east side bleachers, third is to bowl in the north end zone in front of the new office/administrative building(this would be substantially lower than the south end zone but still make it a full bowl), and then there is 4th part that I think is pretty low on the priority list and that’s to renovate the west side and add more boxes, etc.

Fundraising is happening but they’ve been pretty quiet about it. They could be at 90% done with the fundraising for phase 1, the could be 10%, I’m not in the know and not sure.

the problem isn't with the steps you laid out...It is with the Train-drivers. They need about 6 of them in a room to make sure there are at least another 200 steps that you didn't cover, plus about $10K worth of stamps from each of them to OK it. I tried to bring paint with me to the concert, and they yelled at me because I wasn't a professional train-driver.

Got me. I know personally I’ve been holding out hope that it’s because they’re going to replace them altogether sooner than we think so it’d be a waste of time/money But after they released the full athletic facility plan, specifically the stadium plan, it became apparent that they’re going to do a couple other things first. Which is fine IF they’d paint the damn things in the meantime.

I hear you. I know I've said it before, so it's cold coffee, but not painting those bleachers because the stadium might be redone someday is like not mowing your lawn because you might put in a pool someday.
Ain’t it weird how the school and local businesses have no problem endorsing some volunteers doing that goofy C.A.T.S. video, but apparently won’t help some volunteers do a painting party?
I think I know why. They’ll do anything to bash the Griz (such as the stupid song) but if it has nothing to do with the Griz, then why bother? For instance, instead of just painting, if they could paint “FTG” on the bleachers, volunteers and business would line up.

I think you're on to something. It's almost like UM has to paint some bleachers so MSU will do it, but not quite as well. See, e.g., The inflatable cat head in the south/east/southern corner they trot out to for the entrance.
We put an “M” on a hill right behind campus
They put an “M” on a hill on the other side of the valley

After a 1st down, We yell in unison, “first down MT!”
After a 1st down, they paw at the air like they just don’t care

We start a Griz walk before the games.
They have plans to pave the trail of tears into a “promenade”

We have a canon that shakes windows across the river
They have a firecracker that can’t even be heard near the shit pond

We have trees and bushes around the tailgate areas
They have nothing but mud and pictures of players on port-a-potty’s

Bozeman establishes a University and begins classes in 1893.

Missoula wins the vote to create a university in 1893, but doesn’t actually open and hold classes until 1895. But they still put 1893 on their official logo as to not be one upped by MSU on who was established first.

Although true, see how stupid that comes off garizzle? Give it a break.

Yeah it does come off as stupid: I’ve never understood how a troll’s mind works and what would compel them to post on their big brother’s site.
Btw, I like how MScute is always copying the Griz and trying to trick outsiders to think they are us. So cute. But then when they actually schedule a good team like undsu, they puss out! Oh lil bro, keep trying

Wait, don't you remember how much sense it made for them to cower from that scheduled game mere months before kickoff, leaving UNDSU in an awful position with their schedule? It made total sense, and was the biggest Cat move of all time.

Perfect Cat-sense and lil bro-ness. It’s their best quality—brushing off epic fails like it ain’t no thang. All cats have the ability to land on their feet no matter how hard you punt one

From personal experience, I would offer a third pittfall. Getting drunk and forgetting where you stored said paint. This however is often remedied with a good night's sleep.

Ugh, you can't go adding cautions to the already ultra-complicated process of getting paint, and then applying paint to areas that need painting. If a second tier hip-hop artist from the 80s can't grasp the two steps, he's not going to be able to handle all these extra caveats.

That's awesome

I didn't go, but hopefully MSU keeps booking acts. Montana is such a dire place for concerts.

The concert situation has gotten much better with Mid-Major acts (Nathaniel Rateliff, Pixies, Wilco, etc.) coming through in recent years. The new Kettlehouse amphitheater in Missoula as well as the established Big Sky Brewery location has done well in bringing in these kind of shows. Bozeman will soon have a new venue just off 7th near the old Rainbow/now RSVP motel that is being put in by the same promoter that runs the Kettlehouse and the Wilma, so hopefully Bozeman can start picking up some of those same acts. The Rialto is also trying hard to get good shows. Hopefully the Traveler's Rest Festival can become a staple for Montana and bring in some even bigger names down the road. Even Billings has the Pub Station which is better than anything Bozeman currently has.
The Pub Station is tremendous

Agreed, Sean Lynch has done a great job bringing in some pretty solid bands in there. And just sheer number of acts is impressive, usually between 3-5 shows a week, every week.

As far as last nights show, my wife and I went basically just for the hell of it, kind of indifferent to the band itself. They put on a good show and it was a good atmosphere over all. Just not a huge fan of the music, I really only knew of a couple songs going into it, but that’s a personal opinion and obviously my own doing by going to the show.

Hopefully Bozeman can get some more shows like this lined up in the summers. I’m excited for the Pearl Jam show in a couple weeks, should be a good one.
Been to several shows at Pub Station and agree they have been booking some great bands. But the acoustics in the back room are dismal. Sounds like what it is - an old bus garage.
