I'll keep my Griz

There are many things that can be said about today's game. To say it was a bad game for our boys in maroon and silver would be an understatement. Chalich should have been given his chance to make a difference. The fact that we continued to play Gus long after he had proven he was ineffective is a spit in the face to Chalich's senior year. Stitt and his staff's inability to be able to answer the MSU running game was embarrassing.

That being said, even as an MSU Alum, I couldn't be more proud to be wearing my Griz colors today. The way the cats have handled their win and the game atmosphere as a whole today was embarrassing. To walk into the stadium today and see one of the COACHES running around the field with his shirt off, bouncing around trying to pump up his players was comical. To hear one of the line coaches yelling obscenities and dropping the f-bomb so frequently and loudly we could hear it 5 rows up into the north end zone was incredibly distasteful, especially given the family atmosphere of the stadium.

The real breaking point for me today was watching Newell run over with a white board to Griz Parents section after the game beating his chest, waving the board around showed an incredible lack of class. Coming from a senior I would expect more, but it is clear this mentality starts at the top with the coaching staff. The Bobcat players continuing to heckle the Griz players long after the final whistle when the team has come together in front of their parents was disgusting.

Our returning players have some work to do and the coaches have some rebuilding to do. We have some big players we are losing this year and there are a lot of question marks at key positions. If we can get some consistency out of the offense and shore up the defense we will come back with a solid team. The coaches need to get their Stitt together because they were completely out-coached by a coach that had not shown any amount of competence until this game. The burden is on the coaching staff now to put something together for next year.

At the end of the day I'm damn proud to be a Griz fan. I will continue to bleed maroon and silver and you can bet your last dollar I will be renewing my season tickets for next year. Thanks to all of the seniors and the years of memories and epic games they have given us. Looking forward to next year already to see how these returning players improve.

maybe this will help

I'm proud to wear my Griz gear and will continue to wear my Griz gear. But if you don't want the cats to celebrate a win in Washington Grizzly Stadium, don't let them win...pitiful. They were obviously the more prepared team today and deserved to win...

I'm going to have to hear this from more than one person before I believe it. Especially about Newell.

Nzone griz - wow - classless post and prime example of being a poor loser. Face it - griz were shocked today be a more prepared and better coached team - something that has not happened over the past 9 years under Rob Ash.

To call it bobcat players for showing emotion in such a huge game - shows your complete bias towards your team of choice. I was at WaGriz stadium 2 years ago to experience the Bleskin turnover fiasco - -to see the griz come out at halftime and huddle right in front of cat bench and scream FTC. Witnessed griz fans tell Travis Lulays parents they should have had an abortipn.

So get off your high horse and have enough class to admit the better team won today and you are sad your team lost. To make it bigger is selfish.

Grow up

By the way - get used to losing. Cats are a rising program, and under Stitt the Griz are on the way down. You should probably stay away from live games cuz you probably won't be able to handle the results

In what way was the post "classless?"

Good gawd, the way that word is so haphazardly bandied about, esp by the drunk cat trolls, is ridiculous. That word should be banned from all sports forums.

Classless...

I have clearly gotten you worked up.

I openly admitted that our coaching staff let us down today. Did you even read the whole post? I humbly admit we were beat on the field. Not for lack of talent on the field, our coaches could not keep the momentum up to save their lives and refused to make the changes needed to compete.

The only player I directly called out was Newell for running over into the Parents section. I would be equally embarrassed by a UofM player for doing the same thing. But the coaches acting as they did is inexcusable. They are there to lead by example. I have zero problem with the rest of the team out there walking the trophy around and celebrating their win.

I was at an MSU vs Portland State Game where the crowd was chanting FTG. I was at the UM vs MSU game last year sitting behind the UM bench listening to the fans tell our players to get f***ed, and slinging all kinds of obsceneties at them. It goes both ways with obnoxious fans, which is why I never mentioned them in the first place.

OH and by the way the guy that got them to do that FTC chant at halftime was Gregorak. Ironic no?

I've heard all of the "program swinging up" and the "changing of the guard" before. You had a 4-7 season, but you won the Brawl of the Wild game. Congrats to you.

If you guys are such swell winners and class acts, why are YOU on the OPPOSING teams messaging board after the game, getting all worked up? Grow up.

That might help with the hangover in the morning then

None of that would have happened if the Griz would have won. You can't just think you are better than the other team you need to go out and prove it. The Griz didn't the Cats did. Let the Cats rub it in our face we deserve it. Ty 1 Stitt 0 kind of says it all.

AZ I'm not sure if you have watched a lot of Griz games the last several years, but there is nothing to indicate this program is going to get better soon.
