Idaho State Bengals Scouting Report

2) Paraphrasing Aristotle, If a historically below .500 Big Sky Football Program stopped playing football, would anyone notice?

Okay, you just made me blow some good wine out my nose...

Phuck Phenecie and that classless program. I hope we go run heavy and destroy their will to live. Beat them until they agree to move down to Division 2 football, where they belong.

I assume and hope UM will clobber Idaho St, but have to chuckle at your classless post commenting on ISU’s classless program.

I plan on being just as classless writing about next weeks opponent, the universally hated bye week.

The ISU football program offers two philosophical questions:

1) ISU treats the UM game as a rivalry with over the top histrionics and cheap on field play. Is a rivalry game a rivalry game if one team and fanbase couldn't give two shits about the other program?

2) Paraphrasing Aristotle, If a historically below .500 Big Sky Football Program stopped playing football, would anyone notice?

Post Of The Year

Would this be back-to-back-to-back for Ursa?

I've been band ever since EG purchased the exclusive rights to the Brinty's. I'm still in year three of a five year suspension for "using performance enhancement substances." He thinks I stole a bottle of Maker's Mark from him and posted. Truth is he drank it before I got to his house.

This game has me nervous. Hopefully they’re not reading their own press clippings.
This sounds crazy, but I wish all our games were road games this year. I think we’re more likely to have a let down at home, particularly the QB. Last year’s homecoming was disgusting. They looked super hung-over. But maybe the revenge tour continues and they make Homecoming a day to celebrate this year

Is it possible to make Homecoming an away game? The mind boggles...

I’m not nervous at all. I haven’t seen anything from this team this year that has given me a reason to be nervous now. And Bobby is one who won’t let this team get complacent. I’ve been reading that Bobby probably has the pirate flag up in the locker room to challenge these guys to go get this win.

Does this mean that someone has written that the flag is probably up, or that it is up and this is probably the reason?

Well former Griz, Andrew Schmidt, who played under Bobby the first time tweeted that this is probably what's going to happen. And it's a black flag, not a pirate flag, so my mistake there.

Here's my take: Phlugrad, Delaney, and Stitt were not motivational coaches, just coaches hoping to be good coaches at this level. Bobby isn't hoping to be a good coach at this level. He knows what it takes to be a champion at this level. In my humble opinion, the players see the difference. Bobby's back, Griz are back. I'm not nervous about blowing it against ISU!

"This sounds crazy, but I wish all our games were road games this year." Doesn't sound crazy, just stupid,, but consider the source.

It's not like Idaho St. is its lowly self this year, so I assume the Griz are not assuming a win. Also, Hauck certainly doesn't want to lose to the ISU coaches, nor lose on Homecoming again.

“With that crossover, we’re going to have to change some things on offense, defense, special teams and try to keep them from knowing ahead of time what we’re doing on any given play.”

5. Find a way to get the ball in Flowers or Sulser’s hands on kickoffs. That’s it, that’s the key.

Doesn't that mean letting ISU score? haha

If they only kicked off the them one in the game that would be really good.

Griz only -7.5 favorite. Little surprised by that, but some have mentioned ISU is better than most think.

ISU has everything to win and nothing to lose. Homecoming crowd will play a role, loud and proud.
Griz defense has speed and hit hard. ISU will have to pass and pass often to have success. Griz ability to send rushers from every direction and still keep seven in coverage with a mix of zone and man will tax the young Struck may become dumbstruck or numbstruck. ISU will make some plays, but two or three INTs looks realistic maybe a pick six for the Griz this week.

Possible? This is the BSC. It is more likely than not the Griz play their next 3 homecoming games at Dixie State. It is still unclear if they will count as a conference game.

The whole replay of PSU-ISU is up on WatchBigSky (have to scroll to Sep. 28):

IDK, Ursa might be on to something. I'm not even to halftime and while I haven't seen anything too bad from the team, there was an ISU student with a sign stating something like, "you can't get pussy without PSU" (really, kinda sad for the boys from Pokey if I didn't misread) and another student paying his (double) respects to Dean at the 1:13:37ish spot (this while being up 27-3).
