Phuck Phenecie and that classless program. I hope we go run heavy and destroy their will to live. Beat them until they agree to move down to Division 2 football, where they belong.

I assume and hope UM will clobber Idaho St, but have to chuckle at your classless post commenting on ISU’s classless program.

I plan on being just as classless writing about next weeks opponent, the universally hated bye week.

The ISU football program offers two philosophical questions:

1) ISU treats the UM game as a rivalry with over the top histrionics and cheap on field play. Is a rivalry game a rivalry game if one team and fanbase couldn't give two shits about the other program?

2) Paraphrasing Aristotle, If a historically below .500 Big Sky Football Program stopped playing football, would anyone notice?

I'm positive this team will come out of the locker room ready to get after Idaho st. A win goes a long way right before a bye week. 2-0 in conference play with a break to catch up on school and heal up before a long stretch will be something these guys will need. 1-1 would be a bummer considering we have sac state, eastern, psu, Idaho, weber, and msu on the schedule. I'm hoping we stay focused and give it to the bengals..

Go Griz!!

Come ON. Last week we were facing a vaunted passing attack with a QB who might play on Sundays and a stable of tall, fast receivers with an experienced O-line.

Now, suddenly ISU’s passing game is BETTER? Why? Because we shut down UCD’s?

Don’t be THAT guy, Brint....

BW: I always enjoy your pre-game and post game threads. But I'm also curious why you think Idaho St. is better than UCD in terms of a passing attack? Do you think their qb is better than Maier? Do you think their receivers are better than UCD's? Do you think their offensive line is better? Not trying to be a dick, just curious about your thoughts.

Busy day today or I would have replied to both earlier. I don't think Struck is better than Maier but I think if you look at the teams and their stats there's a lot of similarities.

Gilliam: 78 ypg rushing / 20 ypg receiving
Flanagan: 76 ypg rushing / 10 ypg receiving

Maier: 300 ypg passing / 10 TDs / 6 INTs
Struck: 260 ypg passing / 10 TDs / 1 INT (in 3 games)

Crawford/Harrell/Preece: 850 combined receiving yards / 6 combined TDs
Dean/Connor/Gueller: 811 combined receiving yards / 10 combined TDs

----------

I think ISU's receiver corps is better that Davis's. The RB's are similar, Gilliam slightly better but Flanagan more experienced. QB... it's clearly Maier based on what we know he can do but Struck is having a better start to the season, statistically.

Additionally, I think ISU will be more used to a psychical game than Davis was. Davis honestly didn't really impress me once they got punched in the mouth a few times. I don't think ISU will be as intimidated, especially with a coaching staff littered with guys that are very experienced with how Bobby runs things.

Thought you might be interested in seeing some of our last game...

Got to admit that ISU's QB looks pretty good. But there was no pressure and the DL for the Vikings looked like they didn't know what they were doing. Will be interesting, but if Struck (sp?) has time, he should find some receivers.

This game has me nervous. Hopefully they’re not reading their own press clippings.
This sounds crazy, but I wish all our games were road games this year. I think we’re more likely to have a let down at home, particularly the QB. Last year’s homecoming was disgusting. They looked super hung-over. But maybe the revenge tour continues and they make Homecoming a day to celebrate this year

I totally agree about the reaction to physical play. But here's the deal: From what we saw at North Dakota, the Bison did a damn good job of mouth punching themselves. Had the Aggies "shot their wad" at taking it from NDSU, and had nothing left for the Griz? Kinda seems like it.

I’m not nervous at all. I haven’t seen anything from this team this year that has given me a reason to be nervous now. And Bobby is one who won’t let this team get complacent. I’ve been reading that Bobby probably has the pirate flag up in the locker room to challenge these guys to go get this win.
