Idaho should be winning, but their coach blew it with dumb and needless onside kick

Idaho made too many big mistakes. Every mistake the Cats shoved it down their throat and more. The OL is dominate. Tommy Mellot is doing it with his arm and legs. Should get the Payton award.
It was not a good night for Eck. Idaho has talent, but makes one dumb mistake after another. Not a display of good coaching.

Since us non-corporate lawyers can’t parse your elite legal writing, replete with ifs and buts and maybes, answer this brain-buster: if the Cats beat a Dakota team, will you bring up how the Griz beat the Bizon last year? Will you also bring up how the Griz beat them 10 years ago? If the Cats lose, which is certainly possible, can I go back to saying “my favorite team won last year,” as you so commonly return to as a safe space after the last Brawl?
Nope on Bison. I don’t even mention the Bison win now. I mainly talk of season results for the Griz last year. I have no clue what your last sentence means.

Is there anything that little brother doesn't steal from Montana?

They stole the 37 jersey idea

They stole Sweet Caroline

They stole the cougar scream from Washington St

Do they have anything original in their litter box game day?
Players running out on the field staring at a bunch of horse asses and dodging piles of horse shit is pretty original.

I don't think the Cat OL was dominant at all tonight. Idaho goofed up, Mellott is terrific, and the Cats rolled.

The OL was not dominant. They were fine, but they didn’t take the game over. Tommy did.

Eck tried all those high risk moves— surprise onside, fake punt, going for it on 4th— because he knew he needed to steal possessions if he was going to win in Bozeman. He understood that if he just played things straight against the Cats in their own stadium, he would lose by 3 scores.

They didn’t execute any of it, which is why they got snowed under. Had they played things safe, it would have been more like 38-14 heading into garbage time.

I respect it. Eck is willing to play to win a game he shouldn’t even if it risks a bigger margin of defeat.

He shouldnt
Because why? In his postgame presser, Eck said Tommy should win the award. Many people who played the game at a high level and thus truly understand the game have said as much. What makes you a better judge? Bring up his stats and compare them to the dude from NDSU. Without Tommy this team loses many games this season. You are letting your hatred for the Cats cloud your objectivity, not to mention trashing a great kid from Butte. It’s a bad look and shows your IQ.

It’s apropos to point out the jizz stole WE ARE MONTANA!! from a school that lost a lot of lives in a tragedy.

Agree 100%……they looked worse than they did in October and supposedly were much healthier with their QB back too. The Vandals got progressively worse through the course of the season and Eck bares that responsibility. They were not the 8th best team in the nation.

Agreed…..I can’t stand MSU but Mellott has been lights out this year and has played better than anyone in the country. Should be the Payton winner and not even close really

He'll win it because he's a great leader! His stats will support the decision...

Pre game Eck mentioned they'd have to play a perfect game, get a bunch of turnovers, steal possessions, go for it on 4th down, and have MSU play poorly to even have a chance. Post game he said all the complimentary things you'd expect considering he coached at MSU & got blasted 2x this year. Outside of those comments he said of Tommy 'there's no better player in the fcs'. He said MSU has 'the best fan base in the fcs' to have that size of crowd at a night game this time of year in that weather. Of the O line his son said 'probably the best O-line we've seen'. Remember, Idaho played Oregon, granted most of their O line starters were out for that game. But Eck owned it. He took responsibility for the mistakes & questionable timing of the attempted trickery. He's a good coach & he's relatable to young players, that's why he gets talent to come to Moscow. Idaho's a team to be reckoned with which is great for the BSC.
