Idaho regular season predictions

I like Eck, but he will be depleted this season. But I like Cody Hawkins much better
I think the chicken salad that Cody Hawkins made out of chicken shit at ISU last year was really impressive. I only watched them play us and parts of some other games for them, but their offense was dialed in.

I just think it's crazy that they would schedule 2 FBS games back to back to start the season. And not just any 2 teams, Oregon will probably be a top 10 team this year, maybe even top 5 with the QB that transfered in from Oklahoma. And Wyoming is a really good team also. Obviously the school does it for money, but after the first 2 weeks the team may be suffering injuries and self esteem issues. Oh well, Go GRIZ!!!

Idaho has the potential to beat everyone they face this year, boosters kids included.

Time for another prediction, and this time we’re looking at the Vandys. It’s been an interesting offseason for Idaho as they got crushed in the portal, and now the ongoing criminal investigation with multiple members of the Football team. Vandys fans are high on Jack Lane as their new QB, but there’s a lot of other questions that need to be answered. Let’s dive in!

August 31 @ Oregon - L. Hope the pay check is big cause the ass beating they’re gonna take in this one will be big. Oregon will likely contend for the Big 10 title and this one’s gonna make for a long day.

September 7 @ Wyoming - L. Back to back FBS opponents to open. Wyoming will have a new head coach and I don’t think they’re gonna have a very good team this year. I’m gonna say Wyoming wins a close one, but I wouldn’t be shocked if Idaho won this game.

September 14 vs. UAlbany - W. A re-match of the FCS Quarterfinals, although this one will look much different as both teams had a rough go of it in the portal. Idaho should prevail at home this time but if they don’t, they have the potential to really throw themselves behind the 8 ball early.

September 21 @ Abilene Christian - W. Definitely their easiest non conference game. This one shouldn’t be much of an issue.

September 28 @ UC Davis - W. Pretty interesting game. These 2 teams did not see each other last year. It will be a huge game for both teams but right now I think I give a slight edge to Idaho in this one. I may have a change of heart later this summer but I’ll go with the Vandys for now.

October 5 vs. Northern Arizona - W. Shouldn’t be much of an issue in this one

October 12 @ Montana State - L. The cats fell right into the Vandys trap last year as Idaho had the ball for over 40 minutes. Have the cats learned their lesson this time? I will not be surprised if Idaho wins this game but the cats are very good at home and I think the cats win a close one.

October 19 vs. Cal Poly - W. A good get right game for Idaho as things start to get easier.

October 26 vs. Eastern Washington - W. This games in the dome so it shouldn’t be much of an issue.

November 2 BYE. Damn that’s a late bye week

November 9 @ Portland State - W. Another one that shouldn’t be an issue.

November 16 vs. Weber State - W. I think Webers trash and this games at home. No issues here.

November 23 @ Idaho State - W. ISU will be improved but the Vandys mucked them out last year and I expect a similar result.

———————————

I got Idaho at 9-3. A lot of unknowns so it’s hard to say for sure. 9-3 would get them a seed and put them in pretty good position for the playoffs. That’s my prediction. Thoughts???
All I have to say is, why can’t the Griz play Wyoming every year? They probably don’t pay well, or won’t do it. is my guess.

oh, for sure. Young. Can relate to players due to his age. Learned a lot from his dad. Just be glad he isn't coaching at MSU or Weber

So you have different standards for different coaches. Got it. Because neither of those will ever sniff the playoffs, conference titles, or NC games…But you “like” them because they can “related to players”.

No, I like them because they are much better coaches than Hauck. And if they coached at Montana, they would win a national title. Conversely, if Hauck had to coach either of their teams, he would never sniff the playoffs either. You see, having the most recruiting advantages over every other college football program in FCS or FBS makes things very easy, providing a head coach is above the average quotient. Neither of these coaches would be 0-4 in NC games. Bobby has already had a history with a program (UNLV) who has the same challenges in FBS as these two coaches face in the Big Sky. And he failed miserably.

If he were a great coach, he would be a head coach of an FBS team. Remember when he threw us to the curb to chase the FBS dream, only to fail there? But, he never got a sniff again to lead another FBS program again.

The popular bogus opinion is that he came back home to Montana to coach because of his great loyalty to UM. But, that didn't keep him from bolting to Vegas, huh? The REAL reason he returned, is that he knew his days as a FBS head coach were over.

Let me put it succinctly for you:

Neither Eck nor Hawkins enjoys the huge coaching advantages that Bobby does.

1) Best facilities in the Big Sky (and nation).
2) Not having to schedule FBS money games every year
3) Scheduling three pre-conference body bag games at Washington/Griz to pad our W/L record every year
4) The ability to out-bid all other teams for early playoff games, thus making it much easier to advance in the playoffs, and masking an abysmal 2-9 away playoff record

But somehow they're better coaches. Just because YOU believe it.

Got it.

They seem to have the worst AD in the nation at this point, so that may have something to do with it.

You say that like it's a "bad" thing?

Hauck is a way better coach than all of them, and he relates very well to players. 3d ought to meet a current player or two. No, never mind. They'd be grossed out and offended by him.
