Humphrey Likey To Start vs. EWU

Why does anyone think Cam will be good? Yeah he's looked good in camp but as far as actual game time... Not so much. There's a huge drop off from Sneed to Cam. If you think otherwise gimme those maroon glasses and the crack you been smoking.

Couple things.....

Of course there’s a drop off from one of the best QBs in all of FCS to his back up. But, at the same time, we aren’t dealing with rushing Makena Simis out there to beat NAU. And that’s not a knock on Simis.....his performance was incredible and led to a win. I’m just saying he hadn’t played QB since high school and wasn’t adept at running the offense.

Cam is very good at running this offense. He has a very strong arm and probably throws a better deep ball than Dalton. He really can spin it. I have no doubt he will come in and perform at a high level. The other thing is EWU defense is pretty poor. They rank very low statistically and they have struggled to keep teams from putting up points. They give up 36 points per game on avg as well as 430 yards.

I think Sneed or Humphrey can put up points with our offense. If we lose it will have more to do with our pass defense and letting EWU put up too many points than it will with Cam or the O.

Humphrey will be fine. He just needs more snaps with the first team. EWU has to defense someone they know nothing about? We’ll see.

It's not just the QB, it's the whole team that needs to step up. Last week Cam was getting smashed in the mouth after his throws so the OL needs to step up. The Sac St QB had way too long to throw so the DL needs to step up. The Sac St receivers were wide open too often so the DBs need to step up. The whole team needs to show up this time. I think they will. Usually after a "no effort" game a team bounces back. Let's hope for a big bounce from the Griz.

Humphrey will be fine, as long as the offensive line does its part the offense will roll.
The defense faces another quality QB-Receiver battery in EWU. If the defense plays well this week's game will be a win, and it could be a big win.

Smoke your own fuckin' crack! I'll just sit back with my maroon-colored glasses on, smoke mine, and wait and see how Cam does.

Season is over and the Griz are screwed. Everyone with a brain knows teams can’t lose a game and make the playoffs. You certainly can’t lose a QB to injury and win. Not a chance. Done - stick a fork in them. Turn the stadium into a community garden, donate Monte’s suit to Goodwill for Halloween. All over folks. God I love the trolls and naysayers on Egriz.

I think Bobby is being Bobby and Sneed gets the start. Playing possum.

Possible. From the presser a few minutes ago he said it is doubtful Sneed will play. Said he will not practice today or tomorrow. Has confidence in Cam.

Then followed up with Sneed doesn’t need many reps to play.

I hope cam can keep us doing that because we just don't run the ball well.

Where do people keep getting this? We are averaging 5.5 ypc and right at 200 ypg rushing the football. We are in 6th place in a 13 team league, and 4 of the 5 teams ahead of us predominantly run the ball.

I would LOVE to hear what people's version of 'running the ball well' looks like.

Well I’m guilty of this too but I took the whole seasons body of work and not just the last few conference games.

I just saw a team averaging about 160 on the ground with your qb getting about 30 of those himself. If he’s out I was talking about a team getting 130 yards a game who’s best rusher gets about 70 yards a game.

But as I said I was considering the griz all season long and not just Davis, Idaho St and Sac.

Agree with AZ here. Why we lined up with out Knight in the backfield against' Sac St. to start the game still puzzles me. We should have ran the ball at least 20 times in that 1st half. Whatever happened to the old Bobby Ball with a full back? Probably could have been beneficial last weekend. We need to run the ball and make that O-Line work. Wear out the Defense.

You certainly have all the answers. What kind of box was Sac giving us? How wide were their backers aligned? Did we have a nose or was he shaded? Was it a 1 high or 2 high defensive look predominantly? Was their front soft enough for us to pound it at them all game long? Or has our passing game not been competent up to this point in the season?

We are middle of the road in rushing statistics. However, just wait until we see more stacked boxes with Humphrey under center. You'll understand then.

Sorry to say but the offensive line has a lot to do with all of this. They took a huge step backwards last week(IMO). They either take it personally and open up running lanes and keep Cam vertical or it may be a long day. I think Humphrey knows the offense, has good chemistry with the receivers, and has the talent to do a good job if the line can protect him. I agree with whomever said establishing the run game would be huge in this game. Big game Saturday....

Yes they did (screw the pooch).....but I can not see them doing that two games in a row.
OL performance has a lot to do with D front they are dealing with. The SacSt D front is the best we've seen all year (sans Oregon). I doubt the EWU D front is in any way comparable to SacSt's.

They will not successfully stack the box against Humphrey; he will pick them apart. The EWU D is not SacSt. You'll understand then.
