One thing no one is complaining as much about this week as compared to last week is the Oline. Maybe not perfect, but certainly good enough against a damned good Dline for UNI.
One starter out the entire game and I believe another missed the entire second half. No excuses, much room for improvement but we weren't at full capacity.

Seems to me even the real O line haters need to give the O line some credit today. They weren't consistently dominant but the opened the occasional hole for Peter when we weren't in obvious running situations and they provided Gus plenty of time on a bunch of plays. And this against a stellar D line. I've been critical of the O line in the past but they were far from horrible today. Faint praise? Maybe, but I'll take any signs of improvement I can.

Agree with this. Not terrible, but MUCH work to do - inconsistent.

After the game last week, the coaches said the offensive line played well, maybe even very well. I suspec the coaches will say the o-line was pretty good this week too. Fairly good protection. Opened some holes. The left side broke down on one series, and the d-end and others were on BG on 2 plays in a row.

While BG was quite on, he didn't throw any picks (don't think any were close), and I too thought the receivers had a few drops and should have caught more balls. Last year's receivers would have come down with a handful more of the tougher catches and/or when defenders had pretty good position. I also wondered a few times of the receivers and BG were not in sync.

Will be interesting to hear what the coaches say on these points.

Soldier and Plainsmen, do you think each of us should start our own thread? Looks like many others are. Brint, could you get something up soon, so we don't have to go through a half dozen or dozen threads looking for some analysis and sorting through all of the exuberant or dumb posts.

We seem to be on the same page for once. Is it a full moon tonight?

Here is what I have to say. We are very young and we just beat the #3 team in the Nation. So proud of the griz today. As long as we can squeeze out wins like this, get better every week, and peak at the right time I am not worried. I am still waiting to drop 40+ pts on someone and get an easy win but a W is a W.

Actually Gus looked good. Lots of catchable balls dropped

Lots of wide open receivers over threw too on what would of been touchdowns.

There were a couple of overthrows on longer passes, but I thought most of the longer throws were on the mark or very close to the mark. The receivers need to come down with more of the balls. We need more catches like the big 3d down catch by JLM late in the game.

Yes that one pass to #9 in the 4th in stride right in his hands with a three step lead on the defender and nothing but green in front of him was just heart breaking. That should of been made. In the first half there was at least two dropped passes on critical plays with a very well thrown ball. To be expected with so many young guys.

Holy shit folk, we beat the #3 at their place with more than 50% of our kids playing their 2nd college football game! Get lit and do some celebrating!!!
This!

Oh I can say with a high degree of certainty that the celebrating is occurring in earnest and the lit part, while still a handful of drinks away, is a virtual certainty.

Act like we've been here. We have! ;)

BG looked good in the 1st half; not so much in the 2nd. Wonder what changed. Seems BG can play only one good half. Lucky it was the 1st & Griz D kept UNI out of it.

Everyone here also fails to realize had McGee not scored on a return, the final would have been UNI by 1.

our defense is salty for sure, offense lacks spice.....IMO too much credit for stitt being an offensive genius and he does not get enough credit for hiring a defensive coordinator who was a genius today.....man, what a game plan put together by semore.....great team win...go griz !

Great how they bottled up UNI's star QB, Bailey. Nice.

Isnt that the pot calling the kettle black

I get it. You struggle to think Gus might not be a very good QB.

Lol you make no sense but it's hilarious. I've stated numerous times, even some in this thread that Gus has work to do. You have yet to mention the o line or our wrs. It's all Gus to you. That's the hypocrisy I was pointing out but I guess you need me to spell it out for you

I have mentioned numerous time about the OL play, maybe not in this thread, but to preface what I did say in this thread, Gus has limitations which have a large impact on the offense independent of how the OL plays. Why do you think the Griz offense ignores the middle of the field in the passing game?
The Griz need a West High quarterback. Its just the way it is. Natural way that things are supposed to be.

Actually, Weyer and Dietrich are our two best o-linemen. The line is vastly improved this year, but played better than anticipated without the top 2 on the line for most of the game.

SeeeMore and his smart playing defense won the game for us today. We have some damn good players that should carry us through some tough times. Our Offense is in need ot some more reps. Our special teams with Lewie is supper.
Great win. Stitt has a tendancy to play Not to Lose instead of playing to Win. I thought we would win by one point but I'll take 6. We could get better and this could end up being a great season, I see plenty of signs....

The turning point from a Griz rout was the 2 unsuccessful QB sneaks on 3rd and 4th and one. If Gus fakes the sneak and throws to a tight end releasing to the flat or down the seam it's an uncontested TD and the rout so many here want is on. IMHO

Great win for you guys. This may be a great year for the Griz. Congrats!

The Cats played about where they were picked in pre season. Some bright spots but a lot of improvement needed. Like St Francis, Bryant is a very good team led by seniors on offense and defense. Smart team and well coached. Going to be a tough season for the Cats but will look for improvement each week.

That's it you f#Ck tard! All you posted last week in the SFU thread was how bad they were, how we should be embarrassed, and how our defense was the shits.

Now that your pussy cats look like a gosh damn NAIA team against a team from that same conference, and after you realize just how incredibly bad Idaho really is, you're going to jump on here and try to play nice. No, fu$k you and your dog lover dogshit3g

I told you ass hats I was going to ride you all season long because you asked for it after those comments on that thread. Well I deliver on my promises you shit dick. Go get hit by a bus and stay on your own NAIA board!
