Seems to me even the real O line haters need to give the O line some credit today. They weren't consistently dominant but the opened the occasional hole for Peter when we weren't in obvious running situations and they provided Gus plenty of time on a bunch of plays. And this against a stellar D line. I've been critical of the O line in the past but they were far from horrible today. Faint praise? Maybe, but I'll take any signs of improvement I can.
Agree with this. Not terrible, but MUCH work to do - inconsistent.
After the game last week, the coaches said the offensive line played well, maybe even very well. I suspec the coaches will say the o-line was pretty good this week too. Fairly good protection. Opened some holes. The left side broke down on one series, and the d-end and others were on BG on 2 plays in a row.
While BG was quite on, he didn't throw any picks (don't think any were close), and I too thought the receivers had a few drops and should have caught more balls. Last year's receivers would have come down with a handful more of the tougher catches and/or when defenders had pretty good position. I also wondered a few times of the receivers and BG were not in sync.
Will be interesting to hear what the coaches say on these points.
Soldier and Plainsmen, do you think each of us should start our own thread? Looks like many others are. Brint, could you get something up soon, so we don't have to go through a half dozen or dozen threads looking for some analysis and sorting through all of the exuberant or dumb posts.
