You won't read anything like this from your lying super-star "analysis king"... you know, the guy who uses the internet and opposing team's media guides to impress all of you, with meaningless graphs, and clueless statements.

But, if Montana is going to return to dominating the in-state recruiting war with the Cats, these things should be instituted by our new staff:

1) The head coach should have regular phone conversations with each of the 13 AA head coaches, and their key assistants.
2) All "A" high school head coaches should be phoned regularly by Griz assistant coaches, who are assigned high school's throughout the state.
3) Head coaches from the "AA', and "A" level (and some key "B' level schools) should be given two free tickets to any Griz game they desire.
4) Re-instate summer camps in a manner which makes these high school coaches want to attend in Missoula, rather than in Bozeman.
5) Hire as many head high school coaches as possible for summer camps.
6) Institute Don Read's "tour of Montana towns" to have a physical presence throughout the state, including Eastern Montana, which we are neglecting currently.

There are many more things, but I just wanted to give you some beef.

Not to mention that the entire thread is based on a flawed premise, since he's provided no proof other than his own, obviously misguided OPINION that we're somehow losing this mythical war.

Whether on Maroonblood or Egriz, the old Growler mentioned you and Obama in almost every post for a while there. Monte is either a reformed Growler or he is pacing himself. Like I said, if Growler sticks to football, I find his posts very entertaining and usually pretty knowledgable. Unfortunately, it is difficult to change one's nature. I sure hope he doesn't revert back to his old self......

What is amazing to me, in his newest pseudonym, he hasn't been the racist piece of shit from his past handles. I don't think his character has changed or that he has been enlightened any, I'm just surprised the bastard can suppress it while commenting. Maybe he's drinking better booze?

I'm staying clear of the monte, growler, how many prior screen names debate, and what he is or is not. I do know for fact he hit the nail on the head regarding little to no contact in Eastern MT. I have a few friends coaching in Wolf Point, Glendive, Circle areas. Last season they mentioned the lack of effort and interest shown by the GRIZ east of the Divide, with Billings being the exception. Another good friend is from Baker, and he knows about every coach east of the divide in all classes. He too echoed this.

They all have said the Cats are much more interested and active out there, and all the Frontier Conference schools have a consistent presence in Eastern Montana. Apparently since Hauck left the interest by the GRIZ out there has been very low. Granted Pflu did his meet and greets out there, but really did not get too involved in recruits out east.

Were any of them good enough to play for the Griz and not already in the tank for MSU?

But I will say this, who the heck from that area should Delaney have inked that he didn't in his three years as head coach. I get to see Glendive play in Havre every other year, and that football program is at rock bottom right now. I also see Sidney and Miles City every other year, and have seen Miles City play four times in the last two years. Again, I haven't seen one kid on either of those teams that is a legit FCS recruit. It's just my opinion, but there isn't one football player from Sidney, Miles City or Glendive that the Griz missed out on in the last three seasons. I'm not saying the Griz shouldn't have a strong presence in the area. I sure hope they are looking at two kids in particular from Glasgow. But just because coaches say the Griz or Cats aren't recruiting their kids doesn't mean those kids should be being recruited.

Sometimes, I think we're wayyyyyyy over analyzing this whole "Montana Boy" thing, and I say that as a Montana boy of 40 years. If they're legitimately good enough go get em'! But there shouldn't be a neccessary quota on Montana-born kids playing for the Grizzlies, or the Bobcats for that matter.

I am not into the Montana verses non Montana recruits either. To me, they are all Montana once they have committed to the GRIZ or Cats. I have not asked for them to give me names of potential recruits. One of them did comment that the talent pool out east has been down the last several years though. So you do have a point there. However, even at that the majority do feel the interaction by GRIZ coaches with coaches out east has diminished. As has the interest by Montana to market to perspective students throughout the whole state. Could some of that have to deal with budget restraints? I really do think that might be part of it.

It would be interesting to hear the University comment on these kind of things. :thumb:

The way I see it, there are three ways to proceed:

1) Ignore him/her/it/Growler/Dill/Alp....., whatever it is, entirely, and maybe it will go away.

2) Pretend to concede that, him/her/it/Growler/Dill/Alp....., whatever it is, is the most informed, connected, least pencil-dicked, smartest, richest, successful, right, un-poppycocky( :?: ), football mind that has ever walked the earth (and has forgotten more about football than you will ever learn). I know I have left some things out, but him/her/it/Growler/Dill/Alp....., whatever it is, has an impressive resume. Anyway, then, maybe, him/her/it/Growler/Dill/Alp....., whatever it is, will stick to football.

3) *Ride him/her/it/Growler/Dill/Alp....., whatever it is, so hard, at every possible opportunity, that he pops a cog so hard that even his strongest meds can't stop him from typing the inevitable post that gets him 86'd.
