How loud is WA Griz Stadium's 26K?

And while we are on this note......the crowd really does need to bring it like it like never before.....if we can rock that place maybe.....just maybe....ESPN will spend some more time hypin the Griz and the crowd and less time getting off over AE and the Michigan game.....would be nice for the Griz to steal the national stage for a change.....and not just at the end when we beat em....nice to be the topic of the game and not just the postgame.....

Don't be dissapointed when the topic of the game will be...

What is FCS? Are those real football teams? Oh, sorry to digress - back to the HEISMAN discussion...

I am hoping we get the full shabang on Saturday. Skydivers and hopefully a flyover with F-15's lighting off the afterburners when they come over the stadium.

I have always thought they should put a decibel meter on the field that shows the reading up on the scoreboard.

They fans might tear the place down on some of the bigger games if they were able to see their efforts "High-Marked" from week to week, year to year.

No kidding! They could hang the decible meters under each goal post.

THAT would be the $hit......would definitely get to new levels of loud if we knew how we were doing every play......
That would just bring in an Obama Czar to impose regulations.

And their upcoming bowl games, even with game going on. Small college telecasts are just a forum to plug their prime time interests.

You're right about Obama stepping in. Each one of those screaming Griz fans is exhalling CO2!!!

Think of your carbon footprint folks. Stop it people before we reach the tipping point!

It sounds like it's going to be a little loud when we're on offense as well.
My co-worker's mother works for Beach, and normally teams only need 2 buses from the airport, but APPY has booked 6-7 buses (and that doesn't include their fans that are coming later)...

GO GRIZ!!!

I have 2nd row seats on the 50 behind the opposing bench this year and they are definitely louder than my seats in the fifth row NEZ. The sound concentrates on the middle of the stadium IMO. However, an earlier poster was right, Griz bball was noticeably louder in 82-83. 9,500 people in a tightly packed arena and our student section was two feet back from the edge of the floor. Unbelievably loud.

I bet you they mention the Michigan game once......Alabama/Texas (should Texas be in it?) x 150...same amount for Tebow....I must admit it pisses me to no end thay manner in which they don't even discuss the current game or a special interest story about a plyer from one of the teams they are currently announcing...they spend every halftaime of FCS telecasts touting BCS...as if the BCS doens't get enough press...

That's when the basketball team was good and the football team sucked. I still remember sitting in the stands at Dormblazer chanting "We're number 3" because Penthouse or Playboy rated U of M Football the 3rd worst in the nation. I think that was 1979 or 1980.

I was homecoming "royalty" at Dornblaser in 86 and we got to go to the President's box. It was spider infested plywood and no one was in it watching anything. Sad days for football indeed. :(

My Mistake, how about Quest field apples to apples

I have been to both when both were at their loudest. Sorry. Quest wins when the crowd needs to get loud. I have had my ears ringing at WA/Griz and at Quest. You don't know what you are talking about, which is evident by your first post.

By the way, Autzen is louder than Husky Stadium.

Lambeau Field is at the top too.

Hammer and the bud, I've been to 4 games at Seattle 12th row 45 yard line east side and I think that WA/GRIZ is louder, that is my personal opinion like it or not. Don't know where you have sat, but from where I've been it's loud, but not louder. I make one mistake on which field and and there is hell to pay and to call me stupid in so many words-- go f**k a duck.

Certain teams feed off of the atmosphere:
- Eastern Washington
- UMass

I would bet that App State will feed off of the atmosphere too. Crowd effect negated.

Pick on the return man and any App player that tries to entice the crowd - by name. That will help.

We will get plenty of attention from the announcers if we play well.

The thing about crowd noise, is that it is the only difference that a fan can make. The game still belongs to the players, but if a fan can help out their team by disrupting cadences, or even obscuring audibles, it is a small measure of pride.

In other words, it doesn't matter what others think of our ability to be loud, but it sure makes us feel good about it.

Please stop caring what other people think about us.

The biggest reason i care what people think is that a good showing and a great atmosphere on national TV can be one hell of a recruiting tool........

And ur damn right it makes the crowd feel good to know that maybe that drive killing false start had a little to do with us.....thats why we feel such a deep pride in how our team plays at home.....home field advantage is all we can give the Griz

I know i've said this before and have took a little ribbing from some friends who have never been to WaGriz, but i've been to Michigan vs Notre Dame games in the Big House and I still stand by my opinion that WaGriz is louder with less than quarter of the people! I sat in the middle of the Michigan student section in my kelly green Irish shirt 5 rows up from the rail. So I would say I had a pretty good seat to judge the noise level.
