The Spanish Flu was so named after it was discovered in Spain. The Asian Flu was first found in Asia. IT IS the Wuhan Flu as it was traced to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, in CHINA! Kung Flu was a comedic offshoot of the forgettable TV series. There has been a concerted effort to erase the origin of this much studied, cultured virus. Why? Use your brain, why? Racism! Racism! Typical left wing horseshit. THAT is disgusting.
Holy shit. Don’t know if you’ve heard, but this is called COVID-19. Just a little news flash for you. Most viruses are named after where they begin, but this one ISN’T. Is it really that hard to comprehend? And also, the “Spanish Flu” didn’t originate in Spain. In fact, nobody knows the exact origin. The virus was still attached to Spain, because they were first to have national media report about it. Little history lesson, because I guess you need it. Simple fact is, most outbreaks are no longer attached to the place they are found, and are instead put under the name of the “family” of viruses they come from. “COVID”. Stop the bullshit excuses.

ebola is named after a river where it was first identified, and still gets called that, same as the mideast varient of sars, etc.. the reason nobody calls this the 'wuhan flu', which it was called in china for a long time, and still is called in some places of china, is because the ccp has politicized that sh-t out of it in an attempt to divert any possibility that they initially screwed the pooch dealing with it, and because they've bought off the w.h.o.. i most often disagree with touristo, but not so much here. there hasn't exactly been a rush to re-label the south african, british, or brazil variants, i wonder why?

Those are variants. And by the way, yes, yes they are actually trying to change that. And Ebola also predates the change in virus naming from 5 years ago, as it was discovered before then(1976), and also can’t be attached to any nationality. I don’t care what China calls or doesn’t call it. It’s what we call it HERE that matters. Once again, just like wearing a mask, it’s not a big deal to refer to it as “covid” if you will be saving lives. Guess you’d rather not though. Because saying “COVID” is just toooo hard. https://www.statnews.com/2021/02/09/not-british-variant-call-it-b117/
Once quick google search and I can find multiple articles calling for it be renamed. All you had to was type in a couple words and see if what you claimed was actually true, but yet here we are.

Oh, now it's say the magic word and, voila, I saved a life??? 'Covid. There, I just saved your life, now take your mask and stick it up your ass.
No, YOU saying it doesn’t change shit. The big political figures, well you’ve seen what THEM saying it has done. And let’s just say it hasn’t been good.

I was scratching my wondering why the media has been making a run on racism on Asians, so I watched CNN for an hour.
Think I have it figured out, not rocket science. Like with BLM a few years ago the left needed a platform to run on so they started hyping up racism and calling everyone a racist who wasn’t in n their camp, it worked well for them, won an election and imploded our country. What else could they do, just about every economic number was better than it had been in over 50 years.

Now, they are once again concerned about voters in midterms in 2 years so they go back to their game plan of racism. This will once again divide our country even further but maybe sway some votes their way. Get ready, here we go again for another ride with protests, marches, violence etc...

Watching CNN for an hour?!!! You have my sympathies and condolences. Wishing you a speedy recovery! :thumb:

first, i didn't give a whole hearted thumbs up to everything tourista said. second, thanks for the "lesson" that didn't teach me anything. indeed, you seem to be the lazy one. i generally use 'covid' or just 'the virus' when talking about the disease caused by sars-cov-2, which is the actual virus name, not the disease name, which is what you are talking about in your post, not the virus name. it is also considered a variant of sars, didn't your google search teach you that?

Assumed that was common knowledge because it being “sars-cov-2” is why we were able to get the vaccine up so fast. We already had the groundwork from 04.

Argh!, I think its finally time to tell the background of our disagreements. Sibling rivalry, we were fraternal twins. In all our family pictures, argh! is the one on the left, always. We grew up and went our separate ways. Its kind of like the movie "Twins" with Schwarzenneger and Divito, I got the good looks, athletic talent, and brains. Argh! was special, though. Diagnosed with Savant Syndrome in his mid-teens. He was clearly superior in academics. Few of our pictures together remain, but argh! was always on the left, in more ways than one. Politically, I recently wore the MAGA cap, while he wore a 'feel the Bern' t-shirts. Hope this clears up some lingering questions some of you may have. I feel like a weight has been lifted off of my massive shoulders with this confession. :thumb:
