Maybe my eyes are bad. Sounds like the game was between University of Northern Illinois and Toledo (according to the first post). But doesn't the field (and the proposed field) say "UNH" in the endzones????

Like any old duffer I DO remember the old ice cold Dornblazer field and the famous (back then) three downs and punt style of football. We were a very bad team most of the time. We always had three or four guys that stood out but we were "door mat" Griz.
News paper stated 3,000 to 4,000 people attending the game....pure BS, more like 1500.

And quit calling me an old duffer....

We have it good because we don't have to play on Tuesday, would be my point. Who would want games during the week? No crowd. No atmosphere. Little tailgating. Much less downtown activity. Fewer people able to go out to dinner.

The anomaly of a Tuesday night game on national TV would sell out WA Griz.

Yes, the photos are of UNH's field. I was trying to make the point that New Hampshire's field likely could host 3 playoff games on ESPN, further highlighting how good we have it and how ridiculous much of the rest of the FCS is, even the top programs.

Yes, the photos are of UNH's field. I was trying to make the point that New Hampshire's field likely could host 3 playoff games on ESPN, further highlighting how good we have it and how ridiculous much of the rest of the FCS is, even the top programs.

...and how ridiculous it'll look on ESPN, while they struggle with creative camera angles to make it appear there are actually people at the game.

Tracks around stadiums can come in handy at times, like a nice level surface to set temporary bleachers and porta johns on. Just ask our friends a couple hundred miles to the west. :lol: :lol:

Or if its cold and fans want to run a lap to warm up.
