How Far Do The Griz Fall?

Now, be totally aware that I cannot possibly take the polls seriously. Still, I like to play around with them ... just to have something football-related to kick around. (It's not cool to rip young men who bust their butts to play a game for our amusement, or whatever -- and that happens too much on here.)

So here goes: I'll do my picks (guesses) on the polls tomorrow, when I can fully absorb all the results. But I suspect that, although NAU thumped the Griz tonight, there's a fair chance that the Griz could be higher than NAU in the next poll. And do NOT tell me "that's not right" or "you're crazy" -- it happens all the time.

Or the one a good looking blond is dancing around ;)

Griz to deserve to be 20-25 with Cal Poly, MSU, NAU and EWU all ranked ahead of them. But I'm with Hammer, who gives a rats. The Griz don't even need the poll to get into the expanded FCS playoffs. They only need to win four more games and their in, regardless of the polls.

Serious question: What has MSU done to deserve being ranked ahead of the Griz? And no offense to the Jacks, but this is the first game where they've looked anything other than decent.

When you get gang raped and curb stomped by the 24th ranked team in the country you should fall out of the top 25.

true...if these polls meant anything. but they don't. they serve no purpose other than giving us something to talk about. based on who you played and beat you shouldn't have been 7 anyway. but losing to a top 25 team in their place isn't going to drop you 20 spots. you'll fall a little.

as hammer said these mean nothing. more times than not you're never as good as some of your fans think and you're never as bad as some of your fans think. they're usually just idiots and you're usually somewhere in between. ;)

If the Griz did this you would want to be rated ahead of the cats wouldn't you.

1.scored more points than the cats on a the same opponent
2.had a larger margin of victory on a same opponent
3.gave up less yards on a same opponent
4.did all this with your QB playing only a half while the other QB played into the 4th quarter.

If you did that you should be rated higher wouldn't you,

The cats did all that better against UND. Plus your SOS in the first three games was horrific.

So 55-17 is somehow less effective than 63-20?

Dude, you can spin this any way you want, but at the end of the day MSU's three wins are against Monmouth, Colorado Mesa and UND. Montana's are against Appalachian State, UND and OKPSU.

ASU >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Monmouth.

Griz are ranked higher.

It's a tossup between the Griz and Cats for who should be ranked higher. Both played an extremely weak sched (not either team's fault btw) and both have a bad loss. MUS at SFA and UM at NAU. I don't give a rats who's ranked higher, neither team has yet to show much consistency. But yes, Cal Poly and NAU both deserved to be ranked higher. Won't shake out that way, because DESERVE has nothing to do with it.

Monmouth would have beaten App State and UND by 70 each!! We just have not played anyone very good yet. I am very concerned. :shit::shit:

You are right, unfortunately rankings are like entitlements.

Sfa was a loss, and there quarterback played great.

Right now, neither MSU or the Griz have any "good" wins on their résumé. SF Austin lost again and SMU is winless (except the bobcat victory). We all agree that UND is not good.
App State is struggling and the D2 wins mean jack.
I would have both MSU and UM in the 10-15 range.
