How could Griz Gillman possibly be first-team all conference rb over Davis of the Cats?

Just saw an article on how Wehr had multiple big power-4 schools giving him offers and he stuck with MSU. The Wehr hype is legit
Perhaps, but the more coaches liked Casey than Wehr. Griz players don't advertise their offers to move on.
Your amazing rb went 13 carries for 42 yards, 10 carries for 2 yards, 12 carries for 49 yards, and 7 for 18 yards in the playoffs. Weird what happens when he play actual teams 😂 Gilman might be one of the most overrated players
The Big Sky coaches picked our guy first team all conference. Learn something about the game, dude.

How many yards will Davis gain in 2024? Will he even be a starter? Let’s see your predictions, dude.

Davis' stats.

Montana State (2024) Expected to miss the beginning of fall camp with an injury... projects as the team’s starting running back. (2023) Earned 2nd Team All-Big Sky honors... rushed for 718 yards in his 11 games, scoring eight touchdowns... also caught five passes for 43 yards... rushed for 132 yards at Weber State, 110 at Sac State, 107 at UM.

Wisconsin (2022) Three games… 13 carries for 90 yards… one catch for 3 yards … 6 rushes for 37 yards vs. Illinois State, five for 45 yards against New Mexico State. (2021) Played in each of the season’s final five games, rushing for 109 yards on 21 carries in that span... nine carries for 47 yards against Northwestern. (2020) Carried once against Minnesota for one yard in his only game action that season. (2019) Redshirted.

High School Three-star recruit by 247 Sports, ESPN and Rivals… second-team all-state by Associated Press and honorable mention all-state by Wisconsin Football Coaches Associa-tion as a junior... All-Greater Metro Conference selection as a sophomore and junior... finished career with 447 carries for 3,067 yards and 32 touchdowns... limited to two games by injury as a senior, carrying 48 times for 537 yards and 6 TDs... had 257 carries for 1,762 yards and 17 TDs as a junior... logged 142 carries for 768 yards and 9 TDs as a sophomore... state track qualifier in 4x100 relay as a junior... coach was Dan Lutz.

He'd have been a healthy star for the Blue Devils of Stout State.

Davis is very injury prone.

“A former high priority recruit for head coach Paul Chryst in the class of 2019, Davis has taken just one career carry. Entering his third year in the program, Davis is finally looking to get through fall, let alone an entire season, with an injury sidelining him for an extended period of time.

Currently seeing live team reps come few and far between in fall camp leading up to the 2021 season, Davis is still on the road back, but is in high spirits despite hitting some bumps in the road early in his career.

"It's hard, but everybody has to face adversity and go through things," Davis told Badger247. "I'm just doing my part, playing my role. And whenever the time comes, the time comes, I've just got to take advantage of it.

Before Davis ever even arrived in Madison, he was battling an injury.

Davis suffered a sports hernia during his senior season at Menomonee Falls. He played in just three games, but ran for 607 yards and seven touchdowns on 60 carries (10.1 ypc) before shutting it down and opting for surgery. Davis then spent pretty much his entire freshman season at UW rehabbing.”

Talk about overrated. Davis had all these big school offers, didn’t make it at Wisconsin, and is now continuing to be injury prone at MSU. Try looking in the mirror and at your team before you post dumb comments.

In all fairness to Wehr, he didn’t advertise that. Jim Nagy, who runs the Senior Bowl, did when he was talking about several NFL OL prospects from the FCS.

Coaches don’t vote on pre-season all conference teams—media folks do. See Big Sky Conference release.

Versus the common opponent, and best team in the country SDSU, here is how both RBs did.

Davis had 12 carries for 57 yards for an average of 4.75 yards per carry. He also caught three passes for 14 yards for avg of 4.9 yards per catch. 71 yards total

Gilman had 7 carries for 19 yards, 2.7 yards per carry. He caught five passes for 31 yards - 6.2 yards per catch. 50 yards total.

Davis had 5 catches for year. SDSU was way better later in season. Davis is an injury machine. He had 1 carry in his first 2 years at Wisconsin.

Incredible! This means the Bobs are 21 yards better than the Griz. They should make their IPF field 79 yards instead of 80 to really stick it to UM (their #1 goal in life).

I know the griz are all excited about what you have, and are trying to play catchup for how good the Cats' RBs, OL, and running game has been the past few years - but you still have a ways to go. Julius Davis will be available later in the season, but fortunately for the Cats - he RB room is loaded with talent once again. Elijah Elliot is coming back, a Senior, Stud RB that used to be the starting RB. Unfortunately for him now though... he's probably 3rd or 4th string because of how good our coaches have recruited. You'll get to know names like Scottre Humphrey, Jared White, Adam Jones, Colson Coon soon enough.

Oh no! Not Elijiah Elliot! Have Stank and Snork graduated?

Good to hear your backups are better than your starters. Because it will take a multitude of talent to overcome 8-4, 37-7

Griz running backs are and have been better than Cat running backs. In 2022, 2023 and 2024. No catching up for Griz there. The Cats need to do the catching under there.
