Here's what I know:
Most sports/entertainment entities no longer post to YouTube as you loose the rights of your material when you do (unless you have a popular channel & business relationship w/ them)
Also, it really does hurt your competitive advantage as a program to have too much video easily available to your opposition.
HOWEVER, I was involved with a website that edits conference gm footage & posted it to their own site. This CAN be achieved through good smart editing by people who have a football background & knowledge but few video people in marketing understand this.
Sadly video highlights have apparently become a thing of the past. We used to find 8 min long clips on youtube for the longest time. Then it moved to a more all access with pre game and additional post game stuff which was cool too. Then suddenly the videos moved exclusively to GoGriz.com and shortened dramatically. Now they're totally gone except news clips. It sucks, I would love to still find 5-8 min long highlight reels.
