Actually, the BOR just said they aren't considering firing Engstrom, though they've received plenty of communication urging them to do so.

I hope you are right. He should be gone too. His PR skills in dealing with this situation are poor at best. His leadership skills of raining in the Athletic Department in light of all the allegations, might have taken the heat off O'Day and Pflugrad in attempting to deal with an incredibly difficult situation. However, I take no satisfaction in any of these guys losing their jobs. Pflugrad and O'Day are really good guys, and it is unfortunate that all of this has happened. But for Engstrom to remain as President of this University would be a bigger injustice.

Trib contacted me while I was driving to Bozeman. I wasn't on the Internet for two days. Can't do the Internet when driving alone, and in a hospital room.

It's not your program, buster. I had communication with virtually all of the top athletic supporters and contributors, many in the athletic department and Engstrom. Also, all of the coaches. My access has actually improved.

One would hope when drastic measures like this are taken, that people could have the ability to be the least bit introspective, but despite reality the mindset just continues.

Its like when all of this was happening I would hope for a statement from Pflugrad that No, we won't tolerate allegations like these in the Griz program, but I don't think there was such a public statement ever. And even after getting fired he actually believed that the one-quarter and other similar suspensions was meting discipline.

So myopic.
