Hauck to Illinois

How is the 3-3-5 going to do against 330 pound guards in the Big 10? Does Illinois have an elite nose?
They have very skilled secondary. Better talent to utilize the scheme. Still an uphill battle for Illinois to get through Ohio St, Michigan, Indiana. Maybe that’s why Hauck was an intriguing prospect. I’m sure the defense will play with discipline. I’m intrigued.

So what if he did have this cooking when he stepped down? It didn't do anything to me or anyone else on here. Like none of you would take that kind of pay raise, Bobby doesn't owe anyone an explanation, but just maybe it was too much money to pass up for him and not having to hear from people like so many here that are negative about every move he makes.

They have a talented Dline and experienced talented edges. The good news for Montana is Illinois already has the players for the scheme Hauck is going to run so the players following him will probably be minimal.

I’m not mad he left. I’m not mad he went to Illinois. It’s none of my business what he does with his life. I see a threat on the horizon (Hauck turning into Jimmy Rogers). Given the nature of the sport, im worried about what he could do to the program and how him getting a p4 coordinator gig could impact the make up of the team with the portal open. THATS what I’m worried about.

The only coaching position that he could take that would be unacceptable would be with the neighbors.
Kids that could transfer to FBS already had the opportunity. I really don’t see us losing anyone to Illinois. I would assume most of their roster is constructed and will wait for spring portal to fill remaining spots.

Hauck was yapping in his retirement speech how coaching in today's college football wasnt fun anymore, how he didn't enjoy going to the office anymore and roughly a week later takes this job at Illinois.. guys a piece of crap.
I don’t think you realize the difference in responsibilities between a HC and coordinator. He gets to coach football while coach Bielema has to do all the shit work Hauck had a disdain for. Why do you care what he does?

That is pretty wild actually. I am sure it is a big payday. Transient nature of college football as Bobby said. He is just as much a part of it as the kids transferring.
Difference between "retiring" and "resigning", sold us on the "retiring" one, pretty slick: tired of coming to work, complaining about developments in college football these days...blah, blah blah.. Would have looked different than....hey "I'm "resigning"...I'm leaving, got a way better job across the way, big pay, and I like going to work, even with all those things I said bad about college football"! None the less, it's not head coach, so less cross hairs pressure, he's got a good football head, loves football, should do well!!

The man is set, he didn’t need to go chase a bag “for his family”. His kids are
Kjadults. He’s in his f’ing 60’s lmao

Which I am fine with. But you can’t be happy for Hauck in this instance while also condemning players for basically doing the same thing. Not saying you said that, just in general.
I don't think it's condemnation, as opposed to the way college football has changed. Is he wrong for being human, and changing with the times? Bobby never condemned his players. He has condemned the system. Bobby cares for and has always cared for his players. This is a family decision, which you have no understanding to why he made this decision. Professional or a family decision, this is something that he made professionally and family wise. I think he made the right decision for him and his family. To hold animosity toward someone for a decision like this is sophomic and idiotic. Get into real life. Man.

How is that wrong? If he left in January to go be a DC everyone would have understood. Instead he did this fake ass retirement announcement to shoehorn his guy into place. Recruits a bunch of guys under false pretenses. Then he bolts less than a week later. He's straight up LYING to us. This is a scumbag move. If he takes a player from our team his legacy is completely tarnished.
Everything in this post is dead wrong.

why do you assume players are going to follow him? Do you think Illinois reserved a bunch of spots for Montana transfers? Hauck isn’t a HC anymore.

What did this move do to you? Are you going to consult all of us before you make your next career move?

Maybe not that far, but it's in bad taste, I'm "retiring"...now watch me pull a rabbit out the hat...ding ding magic!!
Did he call it retiring? He said he would come back in another capacity besides head coach, which is what this is. Retiring was what the thing was labeled, but he clearly said he could work in a different capacity.

Again, if there's a bad taste for anyone, you're drinking from the wrong cup because it's not personal toward anyone here. Maybe that's a reason for leaving though.

You do realize they received that either way with BH foregoing his final year salary.
No, they clearly worded him retiring to get of having to "buyout" his remaining salary.

So, UM won't have to pay Hauck what he was owed, but they don't get paid a buyout either. Those two things are not the same numbers.
