GrizPony knows his shit. You should listen to what he says.
What are we doing on defense? Why do you say that? Who are you thinking will go? Gives us some players and destinations.
He did what was human. Hes always been a Griz and Montana loyalist. His family comes first, just like yours. I guarantee you that every player at Montana is happy for him, and will be cheering for Illinois this year.He just decided to do what a lot of players do and chase the money up a level.
Holy fuck, You realize that the Illinois DC job has been open less than a week. How is that wrong? If he left in January to go be a DC everyone would have understood. Instead he did this fake ass retirement announcement to shoehorn his guy into place. Recruits a bunch of guys under false pretenses. Then he bolts less than a week later. He's straight up LYING to us. This is a scumbag move. If he takes a player from our team his legacy is completely tarnished.
The man is set, he didn’t need to go chase a bag “for his family”. His kids are adults. He’s in his f’ing 60’s lmaoHe did what was human. Hes always been a Griz and Montana loyalist. His family comes first, just like yours. I guarantee you that every player at Montana is happy for him, and will be cheering for Illinois this year.
Good point. It was announced he was leaving same day as Bobby announced.Holy fuck, You realize that the Illinois DC job has been open less than a week.
He'll likely have a stable of the the immovable DT's he's always wanted. How is the 3-3-5 going to do against 330 pound guards in the Big 10? Does Illinois have an elite nose?
If he didn't have contact with Illinois about it prior to his retirement announcement then I'm OK with his decision 100%. But if he was in talks ahead of last week then it was wrong to frame it as a retirement, because clearly it isn't.I don't get why people are all twisted about this.
Look when the Illinois DC position became available. If he didn't have contact with Illinois about it prior to his retirement announcement then I'm OK with his decision 100%. But if he was in talks ahead of last week then it was wrong to frame it as a retirement, because clearly it isn't.
Illinois already has the hybrid type personnel that thrive in the 3-3-5 but it might just be a bad fit schematically for the conference.Congrats Bobby! I fully support your move and hope you do well in the Big Ten. See you in Minnesota when the Golden Gophers play the Fighting Illini.
I will laugh my ass off if Bobby runs the 4-2-5 at Illinois. Of course, he might not have a choice in which defense he runs.
I think he's paying rent while the Hauck's are in ChampaignDoes this mean that Bobby Kennedy is getting an eviction notice from Hauck's basement now?
Absolutely naive to think the timing of all this for a guy as calculated as Bobby Hauck is just pure luck.Look when the Illinois DC position became available.
How will you ever know? It isn't like Hoops is going to tell us. Remember, he knows Bobby's agent. (wink, wink)If he didn't have contact with Illinois about it prior to his retirement announcement then I'm OK with his decision 100%. But if he was in talks ahead of last week then it was wrong to frame it as a retirement, because clearly it isn't.
Illinois is much closer to Minnesota than MissoulaI wish him well. I am worried about him taking some of our players as a gift to the Illini.
