Hauck to Illinois

Goddamn, he did you guys dirty. I thought it was a joke until I came here.

So basically, if we accept the hints in a favorable way,
1. Coach stepped down because he no longer enjoyed coaching in the new reality,
Bobby has always enjoyed coaching. It's the head coach admin hassles that got him down.
2. Illinois said "holy shit, let's grab him" because montana is always good
3. Illinois threw a lot of cash at him
4. Bobby grunted
More like squealed a lttile bit, like from the tummy
5. Illinois said "you'll never have to deal with NIL issues again, we have someone for that"
Nailed it.
6. Profit.

I don't get why people are all twisted about this.
Agreed. Anyone who watched the presser should have deduced he was not done coaching… just done with head coaching. To be fair I speculated NFL special teams but here we are. It was a business decision and from the outside looking in it appears to be a good one. Good luck to coach Hauck and here’s to BK, end of story. But it’s egriz so yeah that’s far from the end of the story.

Reading this thread is like reading a grief journal. It's best to realize where you are at in the stages and recognize the emotion you are feeling. Then you can understand your reaction and modulate from there. It will all be okay. This to will pass.

Here are the stages:

1. Denial
2. Anger
3. Bargaining
4. Depression
5. Acceptance

Yup, and anyone with any sense shouldn't have a problem with this.

I’ll take the under. Under 11
UM is only brining back one of their top 12 players on D and 9 players total with 250+ snaps. Given these numbers, unlikely any D player is moving to Illinois. Possible that one of the recent transfers might, but still unlikely since they already transferred from FBS to FCS, so unlikely a Big 10 team has interest.

At best there might be 4-5 players that leave, but most will be players that are simply transferring to get more playing time at an NAIA school because Bobby is not the coach, not another FCS school or FBS school.
