Hauck to Illinois

Bobby is 2-7 since he came back. no other coach keeps his job for losing to the Cats 7 times. The Cats are National champs largely in part because Bobby allowed them to grow into a powerhouse using Montana born talent which Hauck famously has been unable to recruit.
At least try to stick to the facts rather than hyperbolize your narrative. Hauck is 2-6 vs MSU in his second tenure here and 7-8 overall.

You can't be this stupid. Bobby didn't fail to raise NIL funds, that is another person's job. Let's see you recruit against an MSU that has 4 times more money to offer. Or a NDSU that gives up to $13K a year above scholarships to many starters. When you don't have money to offer and a Montana kid wants money, what is your solution? What should Hauck have done? He has brought in unbelievable talent without having money to spend. And the Illinois job was NOT available when he retired. So it wasn't a back pocket deal. He likely left because morons blow shit out their ass like you do all the time. There I said it.

Bobby sits in a press conference and says he doesn't enjoy coaching anymore and he's gonna go fishing blah blah and then literally 5 days later he takes a huge job at Illinois.
It's you telling the lies. BH said no such thing about coaching anymore. He said he no longer enjoys being a head coach in today's CFB. But the facts are a weaker fit to your narrative.

Do they really have 4 times as much to offer as we do????

That seems...bad.

The Bobby Hauck sycophants here baffle me. He's not gonna sleep with you guys get over it.

I fully understand Bobby leaving for more money. Get the bag 100% of the time I can respect that. But that fact that anybody is defending how he went about this is troublesome. Makes me think we really do need to clean house of the entire old boys club that runs this Athletic department. If you really believe that the Illinois DC leaves for Notre Dame, and a day later on a random Monday Bobby Hauck just decides on a whim that he was done being a head coach isn't connected i don't know what to tell you. Our new head coach just happens to be living in Haucks basement and can slot right into the job how convenient. Bobby sits in a press conference and says he doesn't enjoy coaching anymore and he's gonna go fishing blah blah and then literally 5 days later he takes a huge job at Illinois.

He planned this shit all along. My issue isn't so much about Hauck leaving. It's that he's lying about it to try and save his legacy. Hauck is a great coach. But the truth is Hauck can't beat the Cats, can't win the Natty and can't get the Montana Grizzlies over the hump so he bailed on us in our time of greatest need while the Cats hoist the trophy. He thinks he can slink away and feed us bullshit so we don't notice it and judging by the people here on their knees defending him he's probably right.
I was told this kind of talk was conspiracy by the Hauck mafia......sounds spot on to me.

No, they don't offer 4 times as much. Hauck's base put him at $315K if I remember right. He had bonuses and stipends based on just his contractual obligations (public appearances) that added another $46k, so he could count on $361,000 every year. He was also bonused based on on the field success and academics, and his total package was reported to be over $400k.

Google tells me Illinois' DC was contracted at $700,000. It is a very significant raise, but it is certainly not 4 times as high as the Griz pay.

Ok so if that did happen (big if). He did the university a favor. Why are people bitching.

We have shortcomings in our athletic department that will not be rectified by Bodner or Hauck leaving.
Need a new President, new AD, Assistant AD and a new person in charge of the NIL

I think Pony was talking about their NIL offerings, not their coach compensation, as being 4 times what we have.

I'm dumb. I had seen people talking about Hauck making "three or four times as much" and didn't read the post your replied to closely enough.

And, no, the Cats cannot offer 4 times as much. Both teams are capped by the state. And since neither team is putting out any of that information, there is no way to logically make any claims about how much the two flagships are paying out.

It's a true win-win for Hauck haters. Not only is he gone, but in their eyes, his legacy is tarnished forever. Unless they're more concerned with what others think than what they themselves think, they should be all jazzed up. When's the party?

NIL. I was talking about NIL for players. At UM.

You need to talk to Welnel about Good ol Grizzlies. You will see what I am saying soon enough.

I'll let Pony answer what he meant by that if he feels inclined, but UM and MSU are only capped at institutional profit sharing, not total NIL available.

The whole thing smells rotten, the AD knew, he didn’t get a text at last minute then summon senior leadship and all of a sudden promote BK. The players don’t need to goto ILL, they can goto any team they want.

Another egg on your face moment for the AD, plus by retiring he avoids the 250k buyout in his contract.
I'm having a difficult time understanding how retirement would nullify a buyout, if there was one in place. I would guess if there was a buyout clause then there must be some type of timeframe after announcing retirement that must pass or the retirement clause would be nullified.

Reason being why would not every coach that are being hired away just announce that they're going into retirement before accepting the new job.
