Hauck contract

Well they SHOULD start out 5-0 like last year...you think they go 2-4 or 3-3 down the stretch? If that happens again I think you're right...that doesn't bode well for BH.

@UC-Davis
@Idaho
Sac State
Bozeman State.

He HAS to go 2-2 in these four games, IMHO. Every other game they should win. IMO, anything worse than 9-2 and his seat should be very hot.

Haha. He wouldn't be on hot seat at 6-5. You need to learn more about Griz football and what the "important" people think about Hauck. Your posts look like jokes.

Who the hell are these "important" people who would be ok with 6-5? Let's hear some names because if 6-5 is the barometer now, this fan base is pathetic! You make the Cat fans argument for them. Can you not see that?? Seriously though, you could pull about any NAIA coach up and take this team to 6-5. Sheesh

Hauck would not sign one-year contract. If Haslam offered that, boosters would run Haslam out of town.

Curious as to why that is so outlandish. 1 year extensions aren’t at all rare in college athletics. With 8-3 this year, do you sign him to a 3 year contract? With presumably a large buyout? Typically you only do that after years when you exceed expectations.

Hauck wouldn't never take a one-year contract, nor would Haslam ever offer it, unless Bobby asked for a one-year contract. I believe he has done that in the past at UM. Feel free to name all the one-year extension in college football.

According to Hauck himself who is to say he doesn't have a contract on his desk waiting to sign? Who says there isn't a contract his agent is negotiating? He also said his first stint he always had a one year contract so why is this year that much different as far as a resign year.

My question for you all is this: If bobby retires or is let go, and thats a big if, who would UofM be able to hire? Expectations: through the roof. Pay: low. Cost of living: high. Location: somewhat isolated. I don't know the intricacies of colleges hiring coaches, but I imagine that the pool will be relatively small. Thoughts?

I want to preface this post with saying I hope he does not retire or get fired or if he does retire that he retires after a national championship run. I also want that it’s a slow week of work for me. But if we are going down this rabbit hole, I think anyone across college athletics would say that Montana is still an incredible job. And with the current roster, I don’t think it’s unrealistic to say that it would be one that a guy could SEE themselves coming in and exceeding INITIAL expectation.

I don’t think it would attract many P5 coordinators, but for sure I think P5 position coaches. Those guys are realistically looking for a solid FCS head job, G5 coordinator job, or getting promoted at their current spot. So to that point if you look at position coaches across the western part of the country, I don’t think that’s unrealistic. The next demographic would be a G5 coordinator. Hate to say it but a good decision for Vigen. Most likely mountain west coordinators obviously. I don’t see us taking a serious look at an an FCS coordinator. I can’t think of one guy off the top of my head with the SDSU guy getting promoted. Maybe see how NDSU does this fall?
Lastly there is no D2 head man in the country that would turn this job down, although I don’t think there is any D2 coach that UM would look at.

I mean you look at the 35 under 35 list you’re going to find some pac 12/G5 guys that would jump at the opportunity (not that we would necessarily be interested). Jerry Neuheisel, Drew Hollingshead, Doug Deakin, CJ Cox is just a few guys. Quality candidates with regional ties, again, not that we would want them but a list of names that would be attracted to Montana.

Disclaimer, this post is a what if scenario and doesn’t mean I have any qualms with the current coaching staff and have high expectations for the Grizzlies this year.

"...,it is all just opinion..."

Yes. EGriz IS opinion based. If one is looking for facts, do a Google search, or something. Facts to back up an argument are rare on this site. If you want facts to back up an argument, go to a court room. In other posts, I have detailed fact v opinion, objective v subjective criteria. In short, if you see bullsh*t, cry "BULLSH*T!" Then back it up with truth. Therewise, it's just 'Dueling Bullsh'ts.'(music from 'Deliverance')

My opinion: GRIZ NC '23! :thumb:

Instead of slinging insults, answer this…What record would make him on the hot seat in your mind?

Hauck will not be fired over any record that he could have with this coaching staff and team. My post wasn't intended as an insult. It was my view. You are so far removed from Griz football and reality that you sometimes don't have a clue. That's just a fact.

So there’s NO record or performance that would give Haslam, supporters and “important” people pause as to Hauck’s future with the organization? None whatsoever? He has a blank check? An endless contract?

Did you just guess, or do you know that you're right?

Nope, no chance of any bad record causing him not to get a chance to sign a good renewal. Who's to say UM isn't trying to get him to sign a contract now?

The pool is probably larger than most estimate. The problem isn’t going to be finding someone with youth and the right experience. It will be keeping them for any length of time. Success = better opportunities and more money. College football is all about the money. You can hate on BH all you want. I don’t think he is going anywhere. This year should be a good one for the Griz. Watching body language, it is quite apparent that everyone from Hauck down knows that this is a year where they better perform. Schedule is favorable and there is no reason they won’t have a stellar year. It just drives me nuts the Griz are in another fall camp with a QB competition. A legitimate - who the hell is the starter competition.

If you want to know what's going on, you should listen to me.

This from the guy who all but guarenteed a new contract last spring. You are a voice but not one worth listening to.

When did the Griz last have a qb competition? I don't recall any competitions, or real ones, under Hauck. What the Griz have for the first time, is a fall with only unproven qb's plus Brown.

Keep in mind NFL special team coordinators. I said that Hauck had those opportunities in the past, and he did. Here was a ST signing in 2022.

"The signing is reportedly the largest contract for a special teams coordinator in the NFL. Sources told Silverstein that Bisaccia could make around $2 million in annual salary with the Packers."

There’s a lesson to be learned from that statement…..not the one you intended, but a lesson to nonetheless.
