Hasquest has looked good at times. For his first year in he league I would say that he has done pretty well. However, he needs to get stronger. As for the rest of this year I would be giving Mayes a srong look based on his performance Sat. Sharp is also improving.
My intuition is that Mayes should see increased minutes for the sake of overal team strength.

If Mayes plays, whose minutes should decrease?

I would like to see Mayes start a game or two and see how he does. Like I said before, I don't think it makes a whole lot of difference which guards we go with, since we have 4-5 darn good ones -- but Coach K has shook things up before (with Martin), so why not do it again. I think "starting" puts a player in a different mindset than coming off the bench with really nothing to lose. I would like to see how Mayes handles it. Problem is: who do you sit? Can't sit Virgil, Cris, or Strait, and he's probably not a good replacement for Hasquest -- so it would probably cost Dlouhy, which would be unfortunate. I think Dlouhy is a very necessary spark plug for this team, and judging by his body language in recent games, he's not taking to well with Coach K's recent tinkering around with playing time.
I'm also a strong subscriber to the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" theory, and fear that screwing with the starting line-up might do some irrepairable damage to demoted players' confidence ... no matter how hard they try to smile their way through it.

(if I knew how to do it, I would put those 2 little pennies in right here)

either that or make sure that Mayes gets more minutes. We need to have 4 scoring threats on the floor.

quote from krysko in today's great falls tribune, as to why kyle sharp starts tonight at weber in place of jordan hasquet:

"I think Jordan can be a great spark off the bench," said Krystkowiak. "This will give us a little different dynamic. Sharp leads our team in rebounds per minutes (played). And that's got to be a focus for us this weekend."

Agreed, I don't see Krysko sitting anybody. We have a deep bench with a lot of versatility. I think Mayes will just have to be patient and play well when called upon.
